dissapearing votes

Hello everyone,

I have been writing on literotica for about a month now, so am relatively new. I have a question. I noticed today that as many as seven votes have dissapeared off each of my stories. Does anyone know why this would occur?

Oh, I have one more question. A story has over a hundred votes, rated 4.75, you get one vote, and it drops to 4.73. That seems like a big drop for one vote, considering it is an average. I assume someone gave the story, which had beeng getting mostly five and four star votes, the lowest rating. Are there people who just arbitrarily vote one star on stories?

If you know the answeres to these questions i would appreciate it, and if you would like to check out my series Young Wolves, here is the link to Chapter one.

The site does sweeps for what it considers illegitmate voting, and does so on a formula and time schedule it doesn't reveal. So, when your vote total goes down, it's because the site's formula has decided some of the votes weren't legitimate.

It takes eight 5 votes to bring one 1 vote back up to the 4.5 hot rating. So, yes, a 1 vote can bring a rating down significantly.

And, yes, there are some voters who will vote a 1 "just because."

Thanks for the info.

I mean to put this in my first post, but if anyone reads my series i would appreciate your oppinions.

thanks again

Found this with one of mine. Had it steadily climb up through 4.5, to 4.7, up to 4.8 and then it got into the top list and immediately started to plummet.

I dunno if that was due to other 'deposed' toplisters voting it low to recover their own positions or simply because once you're in a toplist you get more views and thus more chance of people scoring it low.

At that point scores lost all meaning to me and I've stopped checking my submissions for ratings. If you like it fine, if you don't then whatthefuckever. Too late to do anything about it now!

Just for grins I checked my page. Ouch! I lost almost twenty votes on my first story. Does this mean I have unethical readers?!?

Oh, I doubt they actually read it before they voted. :D

I've noticed some huge sweeps lately. I think they're totting up the votes and scores for the monthly contests for last year. I also appear to have some unethical voters on one of my series :)

It's one of the rare times my score has gone down after votes have been taken off.
