What? You never heard about it? That's probably because the media barely covered it. It wasn't New Orleans after all. No looting, no rapes, no riots, no spectacular shots of suffering people...nope, nothing to see here.

Who says our media isn't into sensationalism. ;)

It's been covered in depth here. I have no idea what you're fussing about this time.

We got plenty of news coverage in Atlanta about it. Maybe regional media is better than national media.

Of course they are; and not just there.
Good Luck to the victims, I say.

Nothing to see here? The Grand Old Opry House was flooded due to the Cumberland River overflowing its banks. And you try to tell me that there's nothing to see here? It's not even known how much damage has resulted. I would expect, at the very least, hourly reports.

I should have put a *sarc* after that comment. ;)

The real message is not the flood itself, but the aftermath.

No crying, no whining, no 'when is somebody going to help me', no looting, no shooting at rescue helicopters, no rapes, no murders, no finger pointing, no blaming whoever for not getting help there fast enough, no cries of 'racism' and 'insensitivity',... therefore no continual news coverage.

Instead, Nashville's citizens got busy cleaning up the mess and helped each other. ;)

Has the water gone down yet?

Most of New Orleans was underwater for about 3 weeks. The power was off for much longer than that. Some places don't have power yet, but that's okay, because no one lives there anymore.

I am sure that the low flood-spawned crime rate in Nashville was due to the superior character of Nashville citizens. Tennessee has every right to be smug, I mean proud of their accomplishment.

I can't wait for the next disaster. It could be a Kansas tornado, a California grass fire, New York snow storm, what have you. New Orleans needs more examples of fortitude in the face of adversity, so next time they can do better.

Obviously, you're a die hard Hank Williams fan.

How did you know that? ;)

The Lamestream media ignored it for 2 reasons:
1. The home of country music has maybe 5 Obama votes.
2. There was no Republican to blame.

Brad Paisely lost his whole tour set up 3 weeks before the start of this years tour. There were at least 3 other major acts tour sets in those warehouses.

Actually, Nashville wasn't the only area hard hit by flooding in TN. My home town was also hit with a good section of area in southtown completely flooded. Dairy Queen had water up to the eaves of the roof at its highest point. Several other areas between West and Mid TN flooded. Nashville just got what coverage there was for the most part (mainly because they are a big city and not a little cowtown.)

I'm calling bullshit.

Sorry to spoil your little narrow worldview, but it was covered intensively here, for several weeks, and now the media is covering the fundraising efforts to help in the recovery.

Just because Faux News didn't show it doesn't mean that the rest of the news media is as retarded as they are.

But-but-but-but....this whole thread is trying to say that there was a liberal media bias! DP insists on it! So...shouldn't Faux News have been the singular heroic station defiantly covering all this while everyone else ignored it?

Say it ain't so, Cloudy! Faux news didn't cover it but all those other liberal news stations did even though there was no republican to blame?
