ummmm you think because his stupid wife listened to a stupid 'lifestyle guru' we should take notice of anything he says? is he a doctor? no, does he have any medical training? no.
the science has shown that Wakefield did bad science, suppressed findings that contradicted his agenda and acted unethically. there is no difference in autism rates between kids who have had mmr and those who haven't.

The Blairs never categorically stated that Leo Blair had the vaccination or not, which is why there was such a fuss about it.
I wasn't aware Wakefield's child had autism. he claimed it was when he saw a small number of children with autism also having bowel disorders.
actually this is a story I have followed since it began for very personal reasons. the science is not behind the claims. Wakefield even supressed the work of one of his own students that conflicted with his thesis. there is not one single clinical trial that shows an association between the mmr and autism. not one.
and no loss to me. both my kids have been vaccinated and that means that they aren't at risk of rubella if they get pregnant which IS a causal factor in autism.

absolutely, and a choice made devoid of emotion and based on scientific evidence. you refuse to allow your kids to be vaccinated, that's your choice as well, but when that herd immunity starts breaking down because of parents like you, then your choice damages brains and costs lives. and that IS a scientifically proven fact whereas the unscientific scare-mongering of snake oil sellers is rubbish.

Actually Quack Wakefield was trying to come with a measles vaccine when someone swept in and did the MMR. He paid off the parents and did some really unethical things that is why his license to practice medicine was pulled.
