Lost

That is exactly right. Which could be leading into, when Claire didn't have her baby she went crazy and Smoke monster (locke) came into power. As far as the poster that quoted me. Maybe those two were able to survive because Jacob let them. Not sure, just made this up. But, maybe he didn't need a replacement before Claire had her baby, so he let the mothers pass.

I don't believe that Jacob has control over stuff like that. There is a higher power at work here that's vague and in the background because even the producers don't know what it is and don't want to deal with it.

I liked that the first few bits of dialogue in this episode were in Latin.

It was disappointing that they switched to English so quickly.

Presumably, that was supposed to date the events at about 2,000 years prior to the present.

I think it's fairly obvious that the woman and the others that came with her were supposed to be from ancient Rome which makes things all the more ridiculous because the island is supposed to be somewhere in the Pacific between LA and Sydney

Man, the deaths are sure coming fast now. I couldn't believe they killed Widmore like that, I would have expected something a bit more elaborate. Now that Jack has taken over Jacob's role, is Locke allowed to kill him? Can Jack just make up his own game, with his own rules now? I thought it was a bit non dramatic for Jack to accept the job so quickly and who knows whether or not he holds the job for long. I'm not convinced Locke can be killed. I mean, what possible ways could there be, something involving Desmond I suppose.
I'm not convinced that Jack is taking this over in any way, shape, or form. I think we are going to find out something stupid like Jacob, his brother, and their crazy mother were deluded all along and no one needs to take over anything.
That stupid twit Zoe should have been killed much, much sooner. A useless character who never earned any Island Cred.

She's on because the producers, in their "where just making this shit up as we go along" way, realized that they killed off anyone that had any cred that they could use and knew they were going to have to bring in someone new.

Illana confirms she was meant to be

Jacob's daughter.

shocker.

not really
Another example of "Make this shit up as they go along"

After the last two episodes Cuse and Lindelof better have come up with something amazing for the finale or I'm going to consider all the time I spent watching this son of a bitch show as wasted.

The Island has the ability to move through time and space. That's what I want to believe.

Yup been all over Lostpedia and the Fuselage. There are several holes in that theory. I think it moves around in a certain area, but I don't think it jumps 1000s of miles. I also think that the moving through time is done by the people on the Island, not the island itself. The fact that Mother is dressed like she's either someone from ancient Britain or ancient Scandinavia is just as bizarre.

So tell me, why would a woman raised in ancient Roman give her child a Hebrew name?

Make this shit up as we go along is what this is all about. The whole Jacob thing has evolved into what it is over time. Cuse and Lindelof had no clue what they were doing with Jacob until last year. Eventually there will be some tell all book where they put it all out there how they came up with it all

It has been an entertaining experience. I went into it with little expectations and have been pleased.
I wasn't expecting it to be logical. Because after all it is just entertainment.

Of course it is, and a lot of people agree with you. For me though, I'm just disappointed in how it's turning out.

Except that Lindelhof and Cuse, the chief creative talent on the show, delineated the ark of the show starting in season 2 and planned for it to last 6 seasons and no longer. They had the trajectory all worked out since very near the start.

So, yeah, they made it up as they went along, except for the fact that the final 4 seasons were planned well in advance.
So, actually, no. They didn't.

Except that church Latin was the language of the educated in western Europe up until the mid-Renaissance. And continued to be the official language of the Roman Catholic mass until the 1960s.
Remember that in Lindelhof and Cuse we have a couple of guys fairly conversant with Jewish and Catholic history and dogma.

Let's just hope the camera doesn't pull back to reveal the eyeball is in a snowglobe and the snowglobe is being held by an autistic child...

It won't pull away. Maybe Jack sitting there staring out to sea, watching a boat (Penny's boat) sail away with the surviving islanders. He's pensive, or even happy, camera zooms in on his eye.

Fin

Of course before that, the new form of the MIB arrives.

Vincent.

"Do rou rave any ridea row radry I want to rill rou?

Yeah I've heard that hype that the dynamic duo spouts from their little podcasts that The Fuselage links to. Their smoke and mirrors act is great. They have "baffle them with bullshit" down to an art.

I'm sorry I know you're a huge fan but I've seen too much evidence to suggest that 3-6 was a fly by the seat of your pants thing. They may have had SOME idea, but I'm not convinced it was so "well planned".

The several inconsistancies that exist and have never been addressed should be your clue

Yes, I'm a fan. I enjoy the community that has arisen surrounding the story. And the scope and evolution of the show, and the imagination it has demanded from the viewer.
Apparently you are not a fan.
If you don't like it why do you continue to comment on it?

I think you've misunderstood me. I am a fan. My brother got me started on watching it two years ago and I got caught up on the show during a difficult period in my life and it helped me get through. I've just been extremely disappointed in the last season and a half and don't feel that it's what I thought it would be when I started watching it. I'm hoping that tonight will redeem that in some way. Especially since it's something I will share with my brother in time, and I'd like it to be something good.

Ok, this one scene, I get what the dual time line thing is all about. Awesome.

I cried, I smiled and I'm happy overall.
I can understand how some will be unhappy, but I'm not.
I'm going to miss it.

I thought it was great and I cried like a baby. I am really gonna miss this show.

Oh god I did too. I'm kind of hoping now that they do some kind of follow up so we know what went on with those that made it off and with Ben and Hurley

I don't know what happened, but the breeze came through the window and blew all this dust in my eyes. That must be it.

I was pretty much right with them until Christian started talking to Jake.
