I had sex with a coworker once. And although that was okay, when I went up for a promotion I was turned down because I would be that persons supervisor. Even though it was just a weekend fling, the feelings by management was that there was a potential for conflict. If I would have accepted the job, she would have had to be fired.

If this is something you really want to experience, ask your outside partner if he can come up with someone else.

I'm inclined to agree with ExpereincedGuy. The workplace is a major part of your life, and too much is at stake. You just can't account for all the variables, and what might happen down the road. As tempting as this might be, I'd pass.

I absolutely agree with this. I work in an all gay office. And while we have our fun, as you can imagine with 3 out gay men, working closely together in a somewhat stressful environment, that is one line we absolutely will not cross. We don't have sex with each other. We have all discussed this, and we all agree that it is for the best.

Mixing personal with someones livelihood just never seems to work out, ever.
