Why can't this house heat up faster in the mornings. Freezing my ass off.

And it's not even cold weather! In fact, its sunnier today than it has been for the past few weeks.

Morning all. Hope everyone has a survivable day at work, or has a lovely day at home. Or in the park...or other places.

Reminds me of an old Victor Borge joke:

"My father came home to find me sitting near the fire in the lounge room...He was most annoyed...We didn't have a fire place"

Dormant - to warm up try rubbing two things together..if you smell burning hair...you're doing it wrong

Sydney has had fantastic weather up till the cold change came in sunday causing my aches & pains to increase but no rain.

Hey Gil,

I think I spoke too soon...the humidity came back again just when I thought things were turning around....like how long does Summer last these days? The seasons on the calendar don't seem to match the actual weather anymore.

Just drove through a storm...beat me home by a few minutes...even leaving work much earlier than normal didn't work..it was actually coming from the direction I needed to go towards so no chance to avoid it. Cooler weekend hopefully coming up.

i don't find many ladies over on the UK thread. load of slappers they are.

don't tell 'em i said that. i'm skeered of 'em.

Don't worry we won't tell the women on the UK Thread you think they are a bunch of slappers....they won't notice a thing if they happen to post here

See.... we can keep a secret

was it something I said, guys? somebody? anybody?? hellooo??? Is this thing on? *tap**tap**tap*

Thank you for calling...your call is important to us...no really I mean that...our next available operator will be with you..once he finishes the next level of God of War 3...

Evening all,

Hope the rain stays away for the ANZAC parade on the weekend, but at least they will get a cup of tea in the barracks, its a long walk down St. Kilda Road in Melbourne town even longer in the rain.

Another task weekend for me. Finishing off one, starting another. Hope the long weekend is useful to all.

Howdy girls and guys. It's almost the weekend and to that I say thankgod!!

icr's raindance extended all the way down here!
in the last 48hrs, we've had over 50ml of rain, gale force winds, power out for 39 of those 48 hrs, and mobile phones out as well.
and the radio tells me it's going to continue for another day at least.

i'm posting now in one of those rare times the power has actually stayed on for longer than 15 minutes.....

Ah the joys of country life...I remember them well  ;)
Just about every time there was a storm the power would go out. Candles and torches within reach at all times at night. Sometimes the lightning would put our TV aerial booster out so no TV until it got fixed (that really used to piss me off! ).

Once a willow tree a paddock across from the house lost its footing on the hill and slid down to the bottom and over the fence and wrecked it - wasn't the ex pleased about that  Kids sent home from school because of potential flooding. Hoping the bridge across the creek would not wash away because that was the only access to the house....oh boy am I happy I'm living in civilisation ;) :cattail:

this isn't just here - the last 3 yrs in town i've had several times when the power has been out for 2 or 3 days..... it seems to be a tassie issue all over.
even when i lived in hobart, the power would go out at least once a week through winter!

Wow! I have that much pull with mum nature? Considering I haven't done any rain dances AND there has not been a drop of rain at our place yet I'm doing well.

Power outages suck! but just to make it clear I had nothing to do with that... ok

Ah, I best get ready for the speedway.. gotta get there earlier so we get a decent parking spot.

ICR aka Goddess of Rain signing out ;)

grrr lit is being stupid for me today and lagging and looking like it hasnt posted and then double posting.

in between power cuts and phone outages, i haven't been able to speak to HIM for a couple of days :(
that's really starting to bug me, as we're on opposite sides of the country at the moment.

it would be nice if the power would stay on for a few hours straight - lucky i have a gas camp stove, or i wouldn't even be able to have a coffee!

It's a speedway weekend here too. Hubby is at ellenbrook speedway helping a mate out in the pits for the australian street stock title. because of the distance from home he's spending the weekend up there and won't be home until monday. I'm itching to be there for the big race but am unable to drive cos i'm still wearing the sling.... grhhhh But such is life.

have a good'un everyone.. hooroo

ICR AKA Godess of Rain won the night with the speedway getting washed out with me sitting in the racecar waiting to hit the track.:(

Somehow babe - I don't think that's gonna happen

Sorry to hear that sweetie. Hope your statement above is incorrect. Looking at my desk calendar it tells me it is Anzac Day in Austrailia. What is that celebrating?
