Part of their Bumper Sticker Slogan "Contract From America" is for a Constitutional Amendment to balance the budget. The only reason there are ANY tax increases this year is because some states have state amendments that force them to balance the budget, and the only way they can do it is to raise taxes.
The Tea Baggers, who are demanding lowering taxes, are also demanding the one thing that will guarantee that taxes will go up.

Though many of the protesters believed in the cause the 'movement' was basically a way for a few leaders to pull a lot more people into their churches - chaCHING - or sell books/cassettes. The dumb-fucks who died in Tiannamen Square trying to influence the Chinese government. Naive more than brave.
