later today I'm off the get the car fixed & hope the bill isn't to big as we need some costly bits, can't see me getting away with under $500!

mine gave me a scare yesterday - thought i'd done the uni's and/or twisted the tailshaft or maybe done the diff or some such other drastically bad thing!
i'm moving house at the moment, so have to have the car to tow trailer and as i've already handed notice for this one, i was panicking HUGELY at the thought of more expense.

as it turned out, it was only bad fuel clogging the injectors, so i got away with $100 and everything else on the car is fine.
but when it began lurching like a one-legged cow, i was freaking!

(the reason i thought i'd done something really bad, and didn't think of a simple fix like fuel, was that just before car went crazy, i'd had a HUGE lockup while towing a car trailer full of furniture - at least 2 tonnes, maybe more - and a car came out of a side road in front of me. i thought i'd for sure twisted something vital, especially as the trailer brakes failed and the weight pushed my car about 50m along the road, fully brake-locked but in gear!)

anyway, as i've said, i'm moving house, so i prolly won't be around for a week or so after today

WQ, I hope the rest of the move goes a lot easier that it has so far.

EEEEEKK, the thought of moving send chills through me & my last move was done by removers although I had moved all the easy stuff myself & that did all the lifting & carring of the heavier goods.

was a nice evening cut a small cake ..was my son birthday .. and we had fish and chip for dinner (no cooking ) and now relaxing will be a busy friday doctor app..for friday and later at night we talking a friend with her family for dinner for my son birthday i thought friday night was best and leave saturday for everyone to do other plans or relax..
