$1,946.25 at a BDSM strip club

"luxurious accommodations are sometimes necessary to attract big-time donors, especially since Republicans remain in the minority in Washington"

It isn't the biggest tab I've ever heard of, but thanks, Steele, for this injection of ready cash into my local economy, and for providing playtime to your Republican fellows.

I am impressed to see Republicans interested in women again.

The story didn't specify that the donors were men, but it's a hopeful sign that the party may be attracting less conflicted people.

Alas, Steele was innocent as a babe in the woods  and the RNC is as shocked, shocked, shocked as you are (or maybe not) to find out about this!

A Republican National Committee (RNC) spokesperson said the committee is looking into a large expenditure at a Los Angeles club known for simulated bondage scenes and nudity. A Daily Caller report Monday pointed out the expenditure, which was for almost $2,000 at Voyeur West Hollywood.

An RNC spokesperson said the committee is looking into the matter, but said the expenditure was made by a non-committee staffer and added that the report erroneously hinted that RNC Chairman Michael Steele attended the club.

"The chairman was never at the location in question; he had no knowledge of the expenditure, nor does he find the use of committee funds at such a location at all acceptable," the spokesperson said. "Good reporting would make that distinction crystal clear. The committee has requested that the monies be returned to the committee and that the story be corrected so that it is accurate."
Can you imagine that? The news was inaccurate!

Of all the trillions of dollars the democrats are spending and getting nothing in return you're going to complain about a paltry two grand for lap dances and booze. At least a Republican gets something worth our money he spends.

Party's Over!

:( And just like that, the party's over!

A California-based political consultant who charged the Republican National Committee nearly $2,000 for a night out at Voyeur - a risque West Hollywood nightclub now at center of the latest controversy surrounding RNC chairman Michael Steele - will return the money to the party, a committee spokesman told CNN Monday.

Erik Brown, president of the Orange County-based Dynamic Marketing, Inc., was re-imbursed in February for $1,946.25 worth of charges at the nightclub, according to the RNC's latest filing with the Federal Election Commission.
Full story here.

And here I was actually thinking of becoming a Republican. I mean, how could anyone not want to be part of a BDSM Lesbian lovin' party?

Now, Zeb, no one ever said that Repubs don't get something worth the money they spend. Look at the great war Republican President GW Bush got in Iraq for a mere $976,000,000,000 (and counting). A bargain if I ever saw one! And all at taxpayer expense, too!

And the great Community Organizer continues financing that same war, so don't lay all that blame on W. The CO only had to tell the Army to pull out to stop the drain. But he waffled and continues to spend.

It took W 2 years to raise the deficit to $1 trillion dollars, I took the big O four months to hit that number.

You know Zeb, I never looked at it that way, but you do have a point. It was Obama's fault that the Bush administration decided not to enforce the financial regs that were on the books - the non-enforcement of which enabled Wall Street to crash the economy. And it was Obama's fault that 3 months before he took office, the Bush administration decided to run the deficit up even more by bailing out Wall Street. And when Obama took office and continued bailing out Bush's crashed economy in a frantic last-ditch effort to keep America functioning - rather than letting it collapse into a failed state - it's his fault that it cost taxpayer money to do so. He should have done it out of his own pocket - you know, in the interest of personal responsibility.

Thank you for you insight, Zeb. I know have a much clearer picture of who the scumbags are in the continuing drama that is American politics.

So....two wrongs make a right? Is that your argument?

Funny about you Zeb, but that seems to be your only lame response when things like this happen. "They did it too!--Kinda!" As if just because the other side "did it also" (kinda) that absolves your side from taking any responsibility for doing something shameful, stupid, hypocritical, etc. Hint: someone else's wrong doings don't excuse yours.

It's also an odd defense for someone who otherwise argues and insists on people taking personal responsibility for their actions.

I refuse to engage our resident mouth foamer and his incessant bullshit.

But what I want to know...
What was that $.25 for?
