Please come to Tibet! that way we could meet, closer to my country! :D

You have promising future plans! I'm excited for you as well! :)

Well..I'm planning on doing a massage therapy program so I can (hopefully) work with an int'l organization that rehabilitates victims of torture. After that (the program will take 2 years) I'm leaning towards law school for ADR (alternative dispute resolution) or Int'l Human Rights law. *shrugs* Or maybe I'll relocate to Guatemala or Tibet...we shall see!

It's going to be an adventure :)

Looking at your beautiful photos has been torture (in my pants).

I definitely need a therapeutic massage!

All tasteless joking aside, that's a very noble and ambitious plan! I have full faith that you will be a powerful force for good in this world of ours. We need people of vision like you to help counterbalance the goofballs and despots.

FYI, I am a talented amateur masseuse. I started by working on my dad's back when I was 7 or 8, and also gave my mom lots of foot massages as well. I've been at it ever since. Massage is, in my humble opinion, one of the greatest gifts one human being can give to another. Actually, my dogs love massages too. They line up for neck rubs almost every morning.

I'm very fortunate in that I have three good friends who went through very extensive training to become certified. Sadly, here in California there still remains a stigma from the 70s & 80s 'massage parlor' era, and there's no State-wide certification. Every City requires their own, and the rules for each City are different.

Lastly, is there an existing program for masseuses who work with victims of torture? If so, PM me the info and I'll forward it to my friends.

Peace!

I'm sorry if I gave that impression! Actually I'm blushing

Sometimes I just write it and then its like Oops!

lol thanks darling, and no need to blush!

India? Holla! Definitely need to take a trip there :D

I like music that's a bit off the beaten path. Go to garageband or you tube. Let me know what you think.

Still haven't had a chance but I will!

Weeeell... you're possibly right, but are you trying to suggest I haven't been nice to you?

Hm. Yes. ;)

I'm familiar with the licensing in CA because I was looking at a school in LA but I've found one here that is more "medical" massage therapy and I'll do clinicals, which I plan to do with the torture victims. Or potentially terminally ill people. We shall see. From my contacts and research it seems that you pick whatever training you want to do and then apply that to your interests (I know, that seems obvious). I'm doing a program that will give me accreditation to work in hospitals and similar settings...and that's about as much light as I can currently shed on the topic.

Now I do Martial Arts.

Ju Jitsu and Keysi mainly...

That's possibly it. My shoulder is knackered... could do with a massage!

Ha... I had the hardest punch in my 3rd grade karate class! Badass.

;)

And oh, by the way. Latest picture is AMAZING!!!

AMAZING!!!

Thank you!

just beautiful

I like the new av :) and thank you darling

Just picking up on what you're studying, and thought I'd throw my two cents in. Well executed therapeutic massage is an amazing thing. Between that and chiropractic I honestly haven't had a need for a doctor (other than for a prescription for hypertension) in more than twenty years. I get a 'tuneup' (massage followed by adjustment) once a month or so, and that's all I ever need. Aches and pains are a rare thing, thanks to a tiny little therapist and an excellent chiropractor.

Bless you for choosing a path that will bring you a lifetime of rewards.

And just to get back on topic, you are one gorgeous woman!

lol thank you darling. It's not what my undergrad is in, by any means, but it'll all come together in this grand plan...I hope.. :D

Oh. Hmm... really? I'll have to change some things around, I think.

I think we've already had that conversation..about 5 times already.. ;)

I know there are lots of serious medical considerations when providing massage in a clinical setting. I'm not sure I'd be cut out for that kind of work. I tend to work intuitively, which is quite nice. It is how I work, generally.

You can do whatever you desire, just keep that 'grand plan' in focus and you'll get there sooner or later.

;)

:rose:

:) feel free to nudge me if you think I'm getting off track! xo

Christ! You keep count?!

;)

You know...I think today is a good day to put you on ignore...

I plan on crying a lot..especially if I do any work with children who are terminally ill.

A part of a spokenword piece I love:
And I'm not saying I want to shake cities to the ground. I'm not saying I want the rubble that remains to become a lost and found where we find the kind of tolerance it takes to rebuild in the face of tragedy because I'm tired of living in a world that says people only come together when faced with catastrophe. [S. Koyczan]

Something I just wrote, inspired by a girl I vaguely know:
Her movements are rigid, undecided yet calculated. Always wearing a big, flowery skirt that comes to her knees. Cardigan sweater. Tights and conservative shoes. Her clothing speaks of some sense of femininity but her words speak of a rage not designated to either gender, but to that of oppression. I would love to see the writing on the crumpled piece of paper she is reading from. Her body language awkward but her voice decisive as if she was condemning all rapists to death with the last period of her last sentence. Her eyes shift from face to face as if she is looking for approval, but refusing it in the same turn as she rushes on to her next paragraph. Rushing as if the flow of words can't be staunched with any sort of pacifying bandage, any amount of love or revolution.

And last but not least...a picture from this morning, that I don't really like but I figure the previous literature will make up for it.

Hey wow, I haven't talked to you in what seems like forever! Hope all is well, and you got the internship last summer you were interviewing for when we last talked. I'll have to check this thread out more often!
