Now that my 25th birthday has come and gone (hold your applause) I am no longer required to see my [now former] terrible, closed-minded psychologist. I haven't felt this free since I was 17.

Who knew it could be so stifling.

Spring has also arrived -- the weather is fucking fantastic.

What do you have to celebrate?

Congrats, dude! That does sound liberating.

We've been without a kitchen since October. Nothing but packaged foods and eating out for nearly six months, AND I have a 2-year-old so I really had to do my best to keep it nutritious.

The kitchen was 100% gutted, down to the studs, and my husband did everything himself except the cabinets and the floor. Electrical, plumbing, dry wall, etc. Our house has been a DISASTER the whole time, our lives more disrupted than I ever would have guessed in advance, the stress palpable, for MONTHS.

It's done. As of this weekend. It's beautiful, I LOVE it, the wall we knocked down between the kitchen and dining room changes the feel of my entire house and I couldn't be happier.

I've never found such joy in boiling a pot of water.
