I'm addicted to that damn hedgehog game.

I've resisted posting any more. Still, if you want silly fun,go to the main site that the hedgehog game is from and look up "Sushi Cat". It's a hoot.

Oh, and my last hedgehog launch lasted nearly three hours, exceeded 70k ft and the final tally was almost 1.12 billion dollars. I let it run by itself when I went to dinner and just left it alone. I came back to see that readout.

My last one was over a half an hour. I was so bored that I haven't played it since.

I feel like it's a crime to love you. That I'm committing some kind of sin. That's how you make me feel.

I dunno how y'all are getting half hour (let alone three hour) launches. My longest was about 3 minutes. However, I did, on this second time through, get into orbit on day 15, essentially halving the time it took on the first run-through.

And yes, even though I live in the frozen wastelands of the north now, I still say y'all. Live with it. :p

A chest infection? Now? This is the worst possible week of 2010 for me to fall ill. Seriously. The timing could NOT be worse.

It's all about the thrusters.

Once you get high enough, and have strong enough lateral thrusters to get some serious sideways movement, you launch, hit your top altitude, and the punch and hold one of your thrusters. This send your hedgehog flying sideways at great speed.

Because the lateral speed increases overall distance travelled, you have a greater chance of randomly whacking into a platform. The platforms don't interrupt your lateral movement, but will boost you skyward if they're struck at a slight downward angle. The net result is the hedgehog skips laterally through the stratosphere like a rock skipped along a lake.

In my case, I have all the possible upgrades, so I get a good launch, activate the 3-shot vertical boosters, and then hit the right or left thruster and hold it. Once I'm going fast enough, I just let it alone. Literally. I open another window, leave the desk, whatever. I ignore it and trust to fortune.

It's a little depressing when you suddenly realize that your life is now filled with mini-vans, car seats, and portable snacks. This realization is then compounded when you trip over 37 different toys on the way to the radio only to discover that The Bloodhound Gang has been replaced with 50 Silly Songs for Kids.

*head/wall - repeat*

Sometimes there is simply not enough caffeine in the entire world.

In twenty years you will look back on those days and miss them. Hard to believe, I know, but true.

I try to live by appreciating what I've got at the time, and enjoying it to the fullest, so that I don't wish I had when it's gone.

Note I said TRY. When I climbed into bed and got poked in the back by a hard, plastic, pointy toy that had somehow found it's way under my sheets I was not happy. Especially since Iduno and Notme left it there.

I do appreciate the kids and I love them more than I could ever say in words. They're funny and smart and growing into wonderful people who will hopefully leave the world a little better for being in it - and I'm very privileged for being a part of that.

It does not, however, help the "WTF happened and when did I turn into a mommy" moment.

LOL!! I guess it's different for me. I'm the oldest of six, and I've been surrounded by kid stuff all my life. I just see so many of the other mom's around me spending all their time looking forward, and I worry that they'll miss now and end up spending the rest of their lives looking back and wishing they'd enjoyed it while they had it.

Oh, dear Lord. I actually live close to an area holding a real, live rattlesnake round up, of which the town is proud enough to advertise on TV.

I read Candide for the first time about two years ago (not sure how I managed to get that old without reading it) an it absolutey charmed the whiskers off me. I've been making all my friends read it ever since!

I can't play with you right now

One down, four more to go. Guess I never really wanted to go to Boston to begin with (too cold!), but I am so keeping the stress ball they sent me.

Please let it be A&M, oh please oh please oh please.
