I LOVE these guys!

The whole country is going to look like that before long and we are going to be driving cars hitched to mule teams.

Stock up on trade goods now while they are cheap. Needles, drugs, tools, ammunition, seeds.

The overall concept is good and admirable.

The presentation, however, IMNSHO, was wooden, overdone, and waaaaaay too long. Being in Oakland (even West Oakland), you'd think they'd be able to find a good film student from the area who could have done a great job of cutting the script by 40% or so and punching it up substantially.

Well, they're doing really good work out there. I know the founder and his wife, amazing folks.

My hat is off to them and I have nothing cynical to say.

ETA: Sometimes I think it's just easier to joke and look for flaws than appreciate effort. My opinion.

I think it's awesome too, I just know that forces are arrayed against things like this. The fact that they're doing well is great.

The only other thing that worries me is that these things are roach sticky traps for gentrification. I hope they can stay relevant without changing the area too much.

And I know someone who tried this privately in Chicago. And got a visit from the Mafia. Jewel/Osco is the only game in town for a reason.

My connection is slow today, and I couldn't watch it. What's this about?
