Good Morning! Lemme see I'm so torn between who to cheer for based on the sexy posted here in AmPics.

Sorry I've been busy these past couple of days.

:rose:

You are as beautiful as ever.

Letting Go...

I was talking with a friend last night and he was upset about something he'd done that he thought made him look absurd... I talked him up and tried to make him feel better... then I realized that I'm not any better... I am such a dweller... I can't control the way any other person feels or reacts to a situation.

I found this quote from one of my favorite poets/essayists... Ralph Waldo Emerson...

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

heading out...

back tomorrow...

One of my favorite newer Floyd songs....

It's been a Floyd sort of day... reflective, angry, melancholy, aware and most of all thankful...

thankful for old friends, new friends, silly friends, serious friends, sporty friends, sexy friends, intelligent friends, soulful friends... I'm fortunate to have friends for nearly all of my facets. You all know who you are... thanks for putting up with me, celebrating with me, leaning on me, needing me, wanting me, supporting me, laughing with me, crying with me, growing with me.

Happy mid-weekend.

I'll start with a wow!! and let my hands take over...

LMAO.... went to quite a few Orioles games when we lived in MD... i thought it was "skankees"?

That's right! It's the "Skankees"! Hey - I grew up in MD! Where and when did you live there? Wow - small world!

As an aside - I grew up and O's and Colts fan, until that dreaded day the Mayflower truck rolled out of town in the middle of the night!
Now, I'm just a Peyton fan! mmmmm - love him!

Your thread always makes me smile!

Old Memorial

and Went to Camden first year it was open

of course in 69 the Mets kicked both the cubs and the o's behinds

Do you remember 3 Buck nites? at Memorial? Ahh good times!

I went to the first game ever played at Camden Yard, and many, many more since then. I have some very fond memories of those times.

Have a good trip, my friend. And thanks for the video! Pink Floyd is my favorite band, and "Learning to Fly" is one of my favorite non Roger Walter tunes.

Most of us are like that. It's difficult to let it go. But let things go we must, eh?

Hope you're doing well this weekend.

Good Morning, beautiful!

onthedf.... glad you liked... missed chatting with you yesterday!!

Anita - We lived out there - metro DC (Silver Spring) from 94-96. Peyton is awesome... :D I'm glad it makes you smile. I personally believe I have some of the very best from Lit visiting me here. You my dear are definitely cream of the crop - I'm sure BBG would agree! :D

TdK - I love when people connect with each other on my thread... nice to see you and Anita sharing a memory. :)

Drac - I love Pink Floyd as well. You should talk to Glass Penguin some time - he's a huge Floyd fan as well. They are a timeless band for sure. I saw them in 89 (Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour) and 94 (Division Bell Tour). Of course both post Waters but still an amazing experience. I'm sure someone who comes by here had to have seen them with Waters - would love to hear about it. The first time I heard Learning to Fly I was moved. It continues to do so. I'm just one of those people profoundly moved by the things I experience. Sometimes I'm too sensitive but I experience life so richly that I wouldn't change it.

Purfect - It was a weekend... not fabulous, not awful... went to visit my mom - I wish she lived closer.

Brad - Hugs my friend... you always bring a smile to my face.

Hairball - thanks sweetie... I'm feeling somewhat better than when we last talked... thanks for being you. :hugs:

Hey there, you delicious woman you!! Just checking in and giving you plenty of hugs, kisses, and more than a few gropes to your perfect ass and perfect tits! :D

About things affecting me..

I posted this in another thread - but a prime example of being moved by things... a Lit friend from England told me if I ever go to Scotland I have to go to Glen Coe - so he sent me this picture. I opened it and tears streamed down my face... it was an immediate connection... my heart was full.

Some buddies of mine went and saw them in '94 and didn't even bother to ask if I wanted to come along. I could've scraped the money together for a ticket! But alas, dwelling on it will do me no good.

What's fun is going back to the Syd Barret era and listening to the really classic Floyd!

So here's my story about the '94 tour (i would have SO invited you along btw). I was in Africa at the time but my college gang bought a ticket for me and were just going to have an empty seat. (cool huh??) Well as fate works... a war broke out (horrid memories there) and I had to come home early so my lucky ass was in that seat after all. Damn I'm blessed.

Wow! The universe must have wanted you to go to that show. My friends were so stoned out of their minds that they don't even remember the concert.

The irony of this, of course, is that the Floyd gave up hallucinogens after Syd lost it (though the jury is still out on Rick's supposed coke habit- no one knows if it really happened or if it was just Waters' formulated excuse for ousting him during The Wall recordings).

And to our lovely hostess- Wonderful photos, as always, and even more wonderful glimpses into your soul and intellect. That is twice as sexy as any photograph or negligee. ;):rose:

I take anything Roger Waters or David Gilmore say about each other with a grain of salt. Gilmore told Guitar magazine that The Wall was just Waters bitching about why his life was fucked up.

I agree with you about AJ and the looks she's given us at her inner self.

One last comment and I'll cease thread jacking

I think the biggest issue with both Waters and Gilmore is that both were too proud to admit that individually they were never greater than they were together. Neither could relax enough to admit that they needed each other. It's easily evidenced by the differences in Momentary Lapse and Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking.

Momentary Lapse has amazing music, but the poetry is severely lacking on most tracks compared with earlier Floyd work- it's certainly the most trivial sounding stuff they'd released since the 2nd half of Atom Heart Mother. Pros and Cons is an interesting concept album with phenomenal lyrics and story, but musically it's dull and repetitive. You hear the same thing over and over again and Waters alone just can't make it interesting. Even bringing in a ringer like Eric Clapton couldn't save that one. They seem to have both grown up a great deal in the last few years- I think Syd's passing was very much a wake up call to them both. Granted, now that Rick's gone I doubt we'll see any further collaboration and even the touches he added will be sorely missed, but we can always hope.

not thread jacking when the subject is a favorite of the thread owner and she opened said conversation.
