(AP) Carolyn Matthews "CMatthews" was found dead at the
age of 41 by her daughter at 09:00pm 01/28/2010 San Diego,
California.

According to police reports, Carolyn evidently committed
suicide in her home.

Investigators revealed that Carolyn took a garden hose and
attached it to a ceiling light fixture in her "walk in"
closet.

She wrapped the garden hose several times around her neck,
then tied it in a knot, and wrapped it with duct tape.

A chair was found tipped over a few inches away from her
feet.

No foul play is suspected.

Her daughter "Amy" has suspended all of her "online"
accounts and has no further comments.

Carolyn and I were very good friends. She really loved
her last story. She emailed it to me for editing, then
I approved it.

In honor of her memory, I will submit it under my name
to give her one last kiss.

God Bless You Honey! I loved you! Why did you do such a
terrible thing?

Excuse me please... I have to go...

One last thing, she always told me when she submitted
a stupid quote, and wanted me to comment on it.

I always said "Elvis has left the room", then she would
know that I love her and support her.

Why did this happen?

I did notice that CMattews posted yesterday morning. This death notice says she was from California.

Swipe in one or her posts says that she was from Florida. Seems odd so many states away and best friends.

I do hope it was just a sick joke and that Swip/CMatthews understands this isn't funny. Hate to hear of anyone taking their own life.:rose:
 
This person is definitely a few french fries short of a Happy Meal. I wouldn't buy it even with a free toy inside. :cool:

My best friend lives in Canada. My best female friend lives in Michigan. Not unusual at all.

I don't know if this is real or not. If it is not, it is a sick and pathetic way to get attention.
If it is real, then my prayers to the family and friends.
 
The gullibility continues (to at least some extent).

This isn't how an AP story is written (or formatted). I have access to the AP file. No such story exists. This is, however, very much in keeping with CMatthews posts.

Can you connect the dots?
 
The website of the local newspaper, the San Diego 'Union-Tribune', has no record of an obit for 'Carolyn Matthews' or 'CMatthews'.

This is someone's idea of a sick joke or a sad play for attention.:mad:
 
This is entirely the level of sick stuff CMatthews posted, so for me, just one more person to put on ignore.

When I originally saw this thread my first thought was that it might be a hoax after reading some of cmathews threads

There's a name for this, it's called pseuicide, pseudocide or Munchausen by Proxy Server:

(n.) A homonymic pun used primarily in fandom to mean a fake death. Another version, more commonly used on the internet at large, is pseudocide[1], which also avoids confusion when pronounced out loud. It can refer to the faked death of a sockpuppet, or of one's online persona. Sometimes used to referred to a suicide attempt or suicide threat using less-fatal methods, aka a "cry for help." Pseuicide (or pseudicide) in fandom relates to the use of a pseudonym (or pseud), a practice prevalent in fandom.

Pseuicides may be sudden -- car accidents, aneurysms -- or lengthy affairs with textbook-perfect (or vague and random) disease symptoms, described in detail (from a hospital bed, via never-fail internet connections, while the patient is at death's door, or by a relative). Extremes of this behavior are often called Munchausen by Internet [2], where the "cry for help" is literally a solicitation for sympathetic attention by use of dramatic lying. However, in most cases, pseuicides are merely convenient methods for retiring a persona which has come under unwanted attention and/or wank.

Of course not! That defeats the purpose. How can you see how much of an inspiration you've been if you die or permanently leave the internet?

No, no-- create a sockpuppet. Announce your own death. Spread the news as widely as possible.

All your LJ friends will be grief-stricken to see you gone. All your enemies will feel terribly guilty, and realize the error of their ways.

You can experience the sympathy, the caring... and, plus, not have to pay back any of that money you raised to pay for your cat's expensive medical treatment!
