Looking at the list, we have five names in the top 10 of their categories (Noted above in itallics). Top 10 finishers get a nifty .GIF logo they can put on their websites and use in promotional information. There are also several names that, with a little push, could make the top 10 as well, as sometimes only a vote or two separate each ranking -- meaning as few as 10 votes could potentially move someone from 20th into 10th or from the top 10 into 1st!!

So get out there and vote everyone...these talented people need your help and support!!!

ETA: To vote, go to http://www.critters.org/predpoll/ Voting closes Jan. 14 at Midnight (GST), which in the U.S. is Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. EST, 6 p.m. CST, 5 p.m. MST and 4 p.m. PST, and in Australia would be Jan. 14 at 11 a.m. for Sydney

For days I couldn't access the site. Now I can get in but no matter how often and how carefully I type in the access words, it won't take my vote. Maybe the thing really does know I'm not human.

You have to hold your tongue on the left side of your mouth and cross the second and third digits of your left hind paw. ;)

You all read these books before voting them, right?

Every single one. I have an 'in' with the authors and read all the pre-pub manuscripts plus I finished my Evelyn Wood classes with all 'A's. :D

Oh, in that case, I'm sorry I didn't nominate any of my 15 books published in 2009 for the P&Es this year. I would have gained another reader--and a speed reader, at that. :D

Why is that, pray tell?

Didn't think of it, maybe? too busy writing, maybe? That was my night to wash my hair, maybe?

Wash your hair? I'd think you'd want some recognition for such an effort as writing 15 books by having them win some prizes. I guess the money was enough. ;)

Beats me. Selena gets the money.
