Loathesome treatment of young girls by Taliban leader

Apart from the 'normal' treatment of women in the Islamic world, which I personally find horrifying, there was an ongoing program to sexually abuse young Afghan/Pakistani girls by a particular leader of the Taliban, who then filmed the rape and abuse, with the intent TO SELL VIDEOS OF THIS HORROR.

When existence of this came to light, this man had everyone involved, INCLUDING THE VICTIMS, murdered.

There can't be a hot enough hell for that kind of scum.

I didn't bother to look in any of the archives.

Speaking as a Muslim, I object to that characterization. Our laws forbid rape and in fact we officially believe that rapists should receive the death penalty, something that very few western countries would do.

I do not condone rape or violence against women, but you can't just characterize every Muslim country like that. There are dozens of MAJORITY Muslim countries out there... I think fifty or sixty plus, and thats not including areas with strong historic Muslim minorities. Is the treatment of women in Bangladesh, Turkey, Tunisia, Senegal, Uzbekistan, Lebanon, Syria, Indonesia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Morocco or Iran the same in any way, shape or form?

Besides...

How many women are beaten and abused right here in America? How many rapes are there every day? How many times are these things ignored or covered up by the police and the community? As a native of Chicago, we have several cases of BEATEN women who "disappeared" and their husbands still have not been charged... one of them was married to a cop, by the way.

The problem, TE is that "jawa report" hides behind racist stereotypes. Its not just attacking fundamentalists, it attacks all Muslims, and uses racist characterizations for all Arabs and South Asians. Oh yeah, they say "jawa" instead of "sand nigger" or "camel jockey" or "raghead." It doesn't make it any less racist. I AM offended by that.

It's possible that I misunderstand the name of this blog. I don't read it, the story was linked there from another site. If it is indeed calling Muslims 'Jawas,' I AGREE that is racist (well, not technically, but we can agree it's wrong).

I was enraged at the treatment of girls - not at the source of the story. Can we agree that the actions of that tribal leader are horrendous and evil, and that, if you're correct about the title of the blog, it is, indeed, 'racist'?
