They were promoting a "lunch with benefits" during one of the games today. Of course my mind would think of lunch served with a side of hot, steamy sex.
 
A foot of snow has a way of smoothing out all the ugliness; the crass signs, the dirty cars, the stumps that used to be trees. Within hours, they become a fluffy unified blanket.

Of course it's temporary. There's the inevitable melting process, with all its brown slush, grit and hangovers.
 
Why is it that we sometimes have to struggle to make ourselved do what we love doing? I need to get off my butt and go print out some reference photos I took Saturday for some paintings I'm about to do. I guess part of it is that I really don't want to brave going into the insanely busy stores to print them. :rolleyes:
 
Seriously, does it HAVE to keep snowing? This place has no snow plows, so the snow that followed me back down from the Alps has now settled in, going good and steady for the past 24 hours. Everything's shut down. And brrrrr.
 
I don't know if it's impossible, but it's so difficult to track down a good set of tabs for While My Guitar Gently Weeps. I'm reduced to extrapolating it from videos on Youtube of people playing it on Rock Band.
 
Ooh, it did also snow here again. I should know, I was walking to the library and got caught in it, like being trapped in a snowglobe. Now everything looks all frosty and cool
 
I hate snow. Unless it's just the two inches that doesn't stick on the road and melts in two days. The Navy sent me to weather school near Chicago for an entire winter. I don't see how you people deal with it every year. And anything colder than 25 is too cold.

Hey Harmony, I was really sad to read about your mom. My mom's breast cancer was detected too late and she had a tough five years of it.

On the brighter side, though, I have someone in my life I'm very close to who has gone through two bouts of breast cancer in the last ten years. She had to have a full mastectomy, chemo, radiation, etc. It has been five years since her second diagnosis and she is doing awesome! Healthy, happy and enjoying life. Hang in there, try to stay positive whenever you can find the strength.

I'll send some good karma in your direction and the pm box is open if you ever want/need to talk/vent.

Only if someone has an appreciation for dry, somewhat caustic sardonicism wrapped up in an attempt at ironic humor.

You'd be surprised how many people just read that as bitchy and pessimistic though.:rolleyes:

I'm torn between posting this in the "what pissed you off" thread and the "what made you smile" thread. So, it will just go here.

Credit card company has been calling me. I'm missed a payment. Yes, I know its my credit but when you have less than $1 in your checking account there isn't much you can do on a $100+ bill which I'm suppose to be receiving help from my parents since we had to put my car on it (but I'm not). I spoke with someone and told them that's nothing I can do until January (financial aid time).

Anyway, they called my parents house Saturday, I don't know how they even got that number. So, this morning when they called I was highly pissed about them calling my parent's house and then calling and waking me up after I had only been asleep for 30 minutes. The lady who called me was nice and went to get a supervisor to "see what we can do from keep your account in the good."

This lady was rude and bitchy from the time she was put on the line. I went through the whole thing AGAIN about how I couldn't do anything until January when I got my financial aid. Then she started with you can lose your financial aid if your credit gets messed up shit. I told her I didn't see how that was possible and she went on and on about how it was; finally I just said I been unemployed for a year made my payment ever month, I shouldn't have to be harassed with this bullshit. I would like to speak to someone else please. Then she was like well I can do that but they are going to tell you the same thing, I said that's fine but at least they won't be bitchy and rude about it. I would like to speak to someone else now! Then she started with well I have 100s of temporary job places throughout the US that work wonderful and she was still talking when I cut her off in mid-sentence and said well isn't that fan-fucking-tastic for you but I've tried those places but they don't work. And hung up.

I got out my card and called the number on the back of it and pressed whatever option it is to speak with someone. Then I said I need to speak with a account manager please; well you was just speaking with one of our account managers. Yes, I'm aware of this but she was bitchy and rude to me and I want to talk to someone ELSE about closing my account. The second manager wasn't bitchy and wasn't rude. And said basically the same thing the bitchy, rude lady said but minus the threats which is I need to send them money now (good fucking luck) and then I closed my account with them and file a complaint against the first lady.

You being bitchy and rude isn't going to get you the money you need any quicker. It's just going to cause customers like me to file complaints against you and then close their accounts.

I have been planning on closing this account for some time and today was just the last draw.

I asked my neighbor the cop if cops always catch the guy who runs from them like on the TV show Cops. He laughed and said they get away about half the time.
