So I caved in an got a Mac Mini on Friday, after being a PC user all my life. It's sure is a whole new world that's opening up to me, and one of the first thoughts I had after starting it up was "Oh my it's quiet!", which I admit that I like a lot!

So I was wondering, do you use a Mac or a PC?

I love a Mac. The way things are set up and organized on one just make so much more sense to me.

PC here, actually its a kick ass HP Pavilion G60 laptop with all of the bell and whistles.

PC, largely for business reasons, but I used Macs for a dozen years and loved them. If I had my druthers - and the cash to indulge them - I'd have one of the Macs that can boot either way.

The Mac Mini can do that, and you can also run Windows on it, if you run parallels you can install windows on a virtuel PC and access it when your using Mac. You can also install windows on it next to Mac via bootcamp, and then choose what you want to use at startup.

I'm a PC, and Windows 7 was not my idea.

I don't see the need to switch to Macs. My PC does everything I ask it to, I'm good.

Ooo... the forum Nazis are going to have a field day with this thread.

Oh, and I'm currently running a PC. Always have, but I think I am on the verge of needing a new computer and to be honest, not sure which way I am going to go. I think right now, it's a 5-6 and pick 'em.

I have to start poking around Windows 7 and see how that goes. The next few days are going to make or break my decision from a PC perspective.

I use a macbook pro, with the partitioned hard disk and windows running on the other side.. I love the mac. Seriously just glitch free computing from the time I opened the box. I would have to say that my only complaint is that when doing things that require a fair bit of power, playing video games and the like, this thing will get hot enough to burn me. Still, it's been going strong for over two years now, considering that I'd used up a couple of thousand dollar laptops before I bought the bullet and got the mac I think it was a worthwhile investment.

I thought Windows 7 had a hope of being decent?

I does, but so did Vista - kinda. I'm just hesitant about committing to a new OS that's best feature is its "Mac-like" capabilities. If that's the case, I'd just assume go with a Mac - and finally making the switch. But I am very interested in many of the things that 7 supposedly can do, and I like the idea of sticking with Windows for familiarities sake. There's also the consideration of easily networking my current computer. We shall see.

I installed Windows 7 on my Mac Mini, and it worked like a charm. I haven't used windows 7 yet though, since I got it for my laptop, which currently sit in a shop for a new cd/dvd drive.

The Mac does work perfectly with a windows in a network, I already had shared folders on my PC set up, and once I found out how to connect to it, it worked just as easily as from a PC, and I haven't had any problems moving files from my PC to my Mac.

I currently use a PC, but like them both for different functions. For publications type work, I definitely prefer the Mac. It's just easier to work with for those programs. For all the other things I do on a computer, I like my PC.

I have a PC. HP Mini actually (running XP), and I love it. Took a few days to get used to the screen size, but now I can't imagine using anything else.

Id say Mac, but it I can imagine that having windows installed on it too will then give you the best of both worlds... The thing that annoyed me the most when I got a mac was that all the windows programmes I was used to using had crappy mac versions.. Having windows on would eliminate this problem, yet still give you the speed and reliability of the mac :)

Mac mini for personal use, a Windows 2000 laptop for work, a Vista laptop as a spare, and there's another Vista desktop, a macbook, and a windows 7 mini in the house. We have a lot of computers running around here, and another on the way, with possibly another laptop in a month or two depending on sales. It weird.

That said, even with all the PC's, I like my mac above them all.

Other, because I'm comfortable with both, and with various flavors of Linux. The OS really doesn't mean much to me.

Which do I buy? PCs, for the price. But it really doesn't matter other than that.

(She said, typing in Windows 7.)

My PC does what I need it to, at the cost I could afford.

Don't get me wrong, I love my macs, but they're soooo expensive. Yeah, they get fewer viruses, and they're easier to use. But the what I wanted in a computer, for a laptop, Mac would have been nearly double.

And I'm liking 7 so far. Having to find a good background in the right aspect ratio has proven a challenge, but that's my only complaint really.

I have some adorable kittens, but they're fitting nicely on my 1280x800 and may not go higher.
