Name: Alicia McBride
Age: 22
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 125 lbs
Hair: Golden Blond
Eyes: Violet
Measurements: 34DD-24-36

Personality:
Pushy in nature, she knows what she wants and she'll do anything she can to get it. Alicia relies on her good looks and cunning to achieve her goals, though her skill with a blade gets her pretty far as well. Sometimes her overconfidence lands her in a heap of trouble, but Alicia has a knack for getting out of it (while being a few coins richer in the end as well)

Skills:
Alicia is quite proficient at wielding swords and lighter weapons, and her lithe body affords her a decent amount of protection. She is not good against heavier, well-armed opponents, however, and will typically shy away from combat unless the odds are stacked considerably in her favor.

Bio:
Alicia was born into an extremely rich family, her father Marshal McBride owns a large shipping company while her mother Jaden (whom was from a prominent family already) took care of the household affairs. At a young age Alicia became interested in the life and the dangerous ways of pirates, though her parents soon scolded her for even harboring such thoughts. No one knew where this sudden interest came from, just one day she started talking all about them and how she wanted to be one. But seeing as how Alicia was a noblewoman, she was taught that these lesser humans were cruel and worthless and whom deserved to be hanged. Alicia never understood why, having never met one of them in person and knowing that her parents hadn't either. So she masked her dreams and put on a more pleasant show for her family and 'friends'.

When Alicia was 16 years old her parents told her she was to be married to some nobleman in some fancy village that she had never even heard of. Angered by this arrangement that she had never agreed to, Alicia snuck out of her manor late one night and snuck aboard one of the merchant ships that had docked in her village, hiding herself in the cargo bay. She had always thought about running away, but she just wasn't sure when a good time would to do so would be. Well, when you find out your parents have already arranged your marriage to someone you don't even know, that would be a good time as any. In any case, the ship she snuck aboard was 'The Maiden of Virtue', and was set to sail for a distant land.

During its voyage, the Maiden came under attack by pirates. While many of the passengers were scared out of their wits, a bright smile spread across Alicia's face. This was her chance to see a real pirate! After being overtaken, the crew and several passengers were taken prisoner, including Alicia. Although the Maiden was damaged, it was able to sail into the nearest harbor for repairs. The captain of this pirate ship was a man named Hayden Reynolds. He wore a large brimmed hat that had a tear at the side, a large red feather sticking out of it, and the skull and crossbones symbol. He wore no eye patch (something Alicia naively expected all pirates to wear) and did not have a wooden leg. His clothing was rough at best: a light sleeveless shirt and baggy pants and boots.

Her first encounter with pirates showed her that they weren't as ruthless as most people automatically assumed. She had been taken prisoner, yes, but she wanted to be their prisoner. She wanted to be around them, to do what they did, and perhaps even become a known pirate herself. That was her dream, after all. She pleaded with Captain Reynolds to become a part of his crew, but being so young he had no choice but to reject her. "Maybe in a few years, I'll come and find ya" he had said to her, running his rough hand over her blond hair. After being dropped off at Breakwater Island, Alicia never saw Captain Reynolds again.

The next few years she spent moving from place to place but could never find somewhere to settle down. On the eve of her twentieth birthday, Alicia finally struck gold (so to speak). Stopping to sleep at a local tavern, she struck up conversation with a rugged and old looking man named Vern Bennett. When she asked what his profession was, he leaned over and whispered into his ear that he was a retired pirate. She asked him if he knew anyone that was looking for a helping hand, and with a smile Vern nodded his head. He set her up with an acquaintance that was just starting to piece together a crew. Using her skill with a sword, Alicia proved her worth and was brought aboard her first pirate vessel (well not her first, but rather the first one to work aboard as a pirate) called The Devils Rage. She only spent about a year working on the Rage, eventually leaving after she had a fierce argument with the captain over some minute thing.

Alicia commands her own ship now, one of the fastest as a matter of fact, named The Blood Lust. Currently the ship lies docked in the port harbor of Coral Anchorage, a rather rundown and crime infested town.

The Blood Lust

Name: Charlene "Charlie" LeSouris
Age: 22
Height: 5'5"
Weight: "I'm less'ana'anchor." (In other words, don't ask.)
Hair: Reddish-Orange
Eyes: Green

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd255/mephistophelily/Charlie.jpg

Weapons: Damn near anything. If she's pissed, she'll do her best to cause pain. Carries three daggers of varying size on her at all times, though their locations are prone to change. She is quite good at fire-breathing, a trick she learned while working in her father's pub.

History: Sometimes its good to be a little crazy. Charlene used to be sane- quite sane, and quite smart as well. Her father was the basis of her whole world, her mother having died when she was young. Her dad never spoke much of his past, Charlie only knowing that his tavern was a 'secondary path' in life. He raised his daughter to be strong, and encouraged her to ignore the stereotypes of what a woman should be.

When she was 18, the tavern was raided by naval officers who immediately set fire to the small building- only after the Commodore viciously killed her father, referring to him as "The Demon's Rat". An infuriated Charlie took up a knife from the counter, slashing the Commodore's face before trying to help her dieing dad. With his last breaths, he confessed to her that he was once a pirate, but had given up that life to raise her.

Charlie's sanity slipped away with her father's life, the only things that mattered to her anymore becoming alcohol and revenge on authority for taking away her only family. Since then, she has taken up her father's pirate nickname, The Devil's Rat.

Understanding her can be quite hard at times thanks to her love of drinking, but she lets her sword do the majority of her arguing. When it comes to being around others, her loyalties remain true to her captain and crew, but is very untrusting of new faces.

Name: Joshua Shaw, but works under various aliases, including his fathers first name on rare occasion
Age: 23
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 152 lbs
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Hazel

Personality: Secretive about his life before going on the run, but an otherwise fairly approachable individual. Joshua tries to keep a low profile while also living for the moment whenever possible, rarely knowing what the next day will bring. While he tends to move from one location to another, he is loyal to those who acquire his services, filling out the positions handed to him to the best of his ability. Finds many of the people he's met over the years genuinely fascinating, yet tries to keep from growing too attached to any of them, with mixed results. He's essentially a walking contradiction between how he wants to live and how he needs to survive.

Bio: The son of Naval Officer, Jacob Shaw, Joshua learned how to handle a gun early on in his life; already becoming a remarkable shot in his teens who surpassed his father at that age. He grew up idolizing his father and trained hard in the hopes to begin following his footsteps, even starting to accompany his old man on smaller voyages after reaching 14 years of age.

This came to a tragic end in a town which Joshua's father and several others were temporarily posted. On a late night, they came upon a drunken group of troublemakers whom were making a scene in the town square. Upon trying to settle them down, they discovered that one of the young men was the son of a powerful noble family. With great hesitation, Jacob and those with him decided to leave them be, but it wasn't enough for the young man. He demanded an apology for disturbing them, which all but Jacob agreed to doing.

Things took a violent turn when the elder Shaw turned his back to the group, suddenly being held in a tightening choke hold and refusing to let go until the older man gave in. Both sides would do nothing to act on breaking up the two, with Jacob's men holding Joshua back on his father's own gargled orders. They would become the man's last words, with Jacob's killer having little time to realize what he'd done before Joshua took hold of a pistol from one of the officers holding him and fired a single shot right through his head.

Joshua immediately went to his Father's side, finding he'd acted too late to have any hope in saving the man's life. Members of both parties could do little else then watch the bloody outcome, with nearby locals having been stirred awake by the commotion; arriving on the scene in its aftermath. Joshua would remain kneeling at his Father's side for a good while, hearing rumblings of what had happened coming from all directions. Many completely off from the truth, and others twisting the facts around into half-truths and blatant lies.

One voice which caught his attention he recognized as belonging to one of his Father's men. A single word whispered directly toward him. Run. And that's what he did. Taking advantage of the confusion and racing out of town, eventually vanishing into the cover of night as others gave chase. And he hasn't stopped running since, going from location to location, taking whatever work was available there and often paying his way on ships through various odd jobs in their crew, which has given him a depth of experience over the years.

Joshua learned a lot about using a sword before the incident, and has since increased his talent from various sources over time. He's competent enough with one, but his main specialty is his skill with a gun, with which he can hit a target from a considerable distance. And while he avoids killing when possible, he's not against doing so if neccessary. Nor is he above crippling an enemy by blowing out a knee or hitting their trigger hand, which he's done while in defense of himself or those employing his services on the land and sea.

Joshua's currently located at Coral Anchorage after needing to vacate the previous town where he worked for several weeks. He's using the money earned there to rent a room in town while awaiting the right ship to take him off land.

Appearance - One in the middle, minus the eye patch (I can never seem to find a suitable enough pirate image which doesn't have an eye patch)

The post looked great to me, Tears. But I do hope you're feeling a lot better soon. :rose:

Bah, I've put a post off for far too long -_-;

Also... I'm changing the time of day for the thread. It was late at night before... I think mid evening would be better. Any obeejectiuns?

None on my end. It makes a lot more sense for my guy to still be on the lookout for a ship earlier in the day rather then late at night.

And it's cool about taking a while to respond. Following up on one of my posts can be a rather daunting task. *dry cough*

I forgot just how daunting ;-)

Cursed WoW. Getting in the way of my dream to eventually see Charlie use Alicia's chest as a fleshy pillow to sleep off a hangover.

K so question... Coral Anchorage is obviously a fictitious place, but do we want the world to be completely made up as well? Or would you all prefer keeping this on Earth around the 1700s / 1800s?

I generally favor fictitious settings/worlds for these type of threads, but I wouldn't mind keeping things on Earth for this one. So whichever you think works best for the story is fine by me. *nods*

In either case, I think I'm gonna wait a bit for the real lazy bones here to get in a post before responding again. *pokes at Lily with a stick*

Shrgaaaaagh.

Bleh. Kinda short and sucky, but I couldn't think of much else to write that wouldn't feel like excessive padding.

Also, feel free to move Joshua around as you see fit whenever it comes to showing him his quarters or whatever else on the ship. I can always fill in stuff later for his reactions, if needed.

And quit your slacking, Lil-dawg.

Not until you actually watch and acknowledge one of my links for once!

<---apparently needs to do more Joker related searches.

So all I get is a 'Huh?!' as my one response? Pft, Joker fangirl.

Okay, it wasn't yesterday.
But I did click on somethin' in the last few days and commented.

Sha'ap and let me post.
*Scowls*

if you guys are still interested i will try and get a post out when i can

my arms still hurt like hell :(

*nodding* Whenever you're feeling up to it, Tears. Besides, my own posting may be a little erratic for the next couple of days due to the holidays, so no rush.
