Not sure if this is the right place to be posting this, so sorry if I messed up

Anyways, I've been reading this comic book called Tarot: Witch of the Black Rose. Any fellow comic nerds around here may know what I'm talking about. It's a comic about a witch named Tarot, her evil-looking sister, their mother, and Tarot's butt-monkey of a boyfriend (seriously, you should see what that guy is put through sometimes *lol*). See, though, the thing about Tarot is that it's exceedingly poorly-written. Grammar and spelling errors are all over the place... extremely dumb ones at that. It does have its moments though. The artwork really is quite good. Plus... well, it has boobs. Yeah, they don't shy away from nudity in this one.

I'm kinda torn. I KNOW it's trash. I know the writing in it is horrible. But I can't stop reading it. I want to say it's like Twilight in that regard, only I wouldn't want to insult the comic by comparing it to Twilight. Anyone else have any thoughts on this comic?

I don't read things with pictures in them, but I do have a collection of some rare comics. If it's just the tits you like and a little action, read Sisterhood of Steel. Nothing like a land of warrior lesbians to get you going. Well written and drawn, but now out of print.

I don't think it's neccessarily just the tits and action I'm liking, though. The comic's story does have its moments. There are a few humorous bits, usually involving Tarot's boyfriend Jon and her sister Raven Hex. For instance, in one issue, the three of them were tied up, and Tarot is wriggling around in order to try and escape. Her movement, however, caused a certain part of Jon's anatomy to find a certain warm place in Raven (yes, they were naked at the time. The characters seem to be naked at least once in every issue). Also, there was a snowball fight during a Yule celebration during which Tarot's mother just stood by calmly sipping hot chocolate while snowballs are flying all over the place. It's little bits of interaction between characters like that that really does it for me.

And thanks for the recommendation. I'll see if I can find it anywhere :)

Not for Crypt Chick or the Dragon Witch! But yeah, the women in this series are generally on the busty side. I'd think that it'd be a bitch for Raven to find a bra that fits, if she ever wore one, that is *lol*
Not too surprising. Boys have been drawing titty pictures since the dawn of time, or anyway the beginning of the twentieth century. And fanboys don't draw bras on their mammary-based characters.

Hehe, the artist definitely has a thing for big gazungas. :D

I love how it's a US comic so the nipples must be covered at all times - smoke, snow, etc. As we all know, the sight of a naked female nipple in non-adult entertainment will cause mass destruction and the eyes of teenage boys to explode in their sockets.

Actually, they show pretty much everything nudity-wise. At least, they do on the female characters.

Graphic novels have really come into their own as an art form and don't have to apologize to anyone for what they are. That's my first point.

My second point is that I used to devour Doc Savage novels, which are about the silliest, cheesiest, most puerile and juvenile literature ever written. (Think pulp super hero trash from the 30's, which is what they were) .They were also great fucking fun. I only stopped because I'd read like all 60 2 or 3 times. I feel not one minim of shame and make no excuses. Only dolts read only classics.

Third, there was a comic book artist named Wallace Wood who worked for the early, early Mad magazine, who could draw the sexiest tits, bar none, sufficient to give a young adolescent Zoot a constant supply of instant stiffies and an early appreciation for line weight and shading in representing mass. Wood's dames were all clothed, but still, with just a shadow he could not only make you see the breast, but actually feel its weight and warmth and texture in your hand. It was salacious, yes, but it was also just beautiful in the most abstractly aesthetic sense of the word. If a line can be beautiful, these were just some gorgeous lines: effortless, deep, profound, arousing.

I could probably do an essay on Wood (he was also sensational with machinery and scientific gear, and was the first artist I can recall to master the rendering of chrome finish in black and white), and over the years I managed to track down some porn he did toward the end of his career. The porn was not very inspired. Unclothed, his breasts were pretty, but they lacked the erotic punch of seeing them embraced by some drapey fabric.

All this is an attempt to say, if you like it, go with it. Beauty is hard enough to find these days.

I second Doc once again. I probably sound very critical in various discussions, but that's never stopped me from devouring as much trash as I ever felt like. They're just two different activities; if we're being critical, I get squirmy if shit is being sold for roses, but I make no apologies when something trashy makes me happy. How can you develop the idea of what's 'good' if you just follow blindly what others label as such, after all? And then, on a personal level, the whole idea of 'good' tends to collapse; if it speaks to me at a certain point, that's all I need to know.

That, and I'd never argue against comic book boobs. :cathappy:

You've just reminded me of one fetish artist i used to follow; Michael Manning

One thing about Tarot that I'm liking is the sense of humor, which is missing in many of the sexiest of artists' repertoires.
