I work at a college and as much as I find girl on girl hot...I am begining to get a little worried that men can start to seem almost dispoable. I see more and more that the older lesbians seem to turn many of the young girls who (seem) straight to at least bi. It is almost predatory in its own way. I am by no means a gaybasher or homophobe just curious if other men get to feeling this way. Now I am going to jackoff to some lesbian porn!

While I don't believe that anyone can "make" you bisexual, I would like to say that personally speaking, there's very little that will make me think that men are completely and totally disposable.

Sex with women fit a whole different need/compartment in my mind...sex with men have their own equal footing. As much as I dig hot chicks, they can't take the place of a man. They weren't meant to.

It's like trying to replace milk with orange juice. They just come from two entirely different places; one can't do the job of the other.

But hey, that's just my copper pennies in the fountain.

There's not enough women out there who are lesbian or bi for it to make much of a difference. So the hypothetical subset that might see men as disposable

and I am calling them hypothetical, folks

are in no way an issue worthy of you worrying about.

Plus, there's plenty of gay men to offset them. :)

Just for the record..

I see it every day really. Girls openly kissing and holding hands..not at all out of the ordinary. Look at the married bi woman thread. I am sure that many of those women are not even open about it. The only thing that upsets me is when I see these women who are married or in these relationships that "secretly" want to have the experience but lack the courage. There are many bi women floating around out in the open and hiding...i am cool with it just interesting how "common' its become. any women reading this ... dont get mad

I think what you're seeing is more women (and men, for that matter) comfortable expressing publicly feelings and behaviors they've expressed privately in earlier eras. Although there is more social tolerance for experimentation today than in say, 1900, I doubt that the percentage of people feeling those attractions has changed from earlier generations.

I think it is definetly related to social outlook. I am a bi guy and it is way more socially aaceptable for 2 ladies to bumb and grind on the dance floor than 2 guys.

Not even a little bit , I personally find it extremely arousing when a woman knows what she wants and isn't afraid , ashamed , or forthcoming about her needs and desires .... whatever flips yer skirt , ya know , man .

go get it .

Hey - thank god for bisexual people - that is the majority of my sex life right there.

Love the men and women.

Not to mention, at college is where most ppl take the time to experiment and see what/who they like. It's just a microcosm of what it generally spread out over the country so perhaps it seems more prevalent.

There really are relatively few gay women, when you look at the big picture.
As has been mentioned, its really just now publically OK to 'experiement' and thats after years of the whole BUG (bi-until-graduation) phenomena began.
Lets remember, also, that women have always been more physically intimate with each other and have always held hands publicly.
The idea that lesbians are preying on young women is, to be blunt, nuts and a little homophobic to say the least.
No one gets 'turned' gay, though I do believe that human beings are, basically, bi and just tend to favor one side over another.

so you're worried about the continued viability of heterosexual sex?

there's a lot of stuff to be concerned about, but that's probably not on the list.

also, not to bitch about it, but I very much resent the use of the word 'predatory'.
Given that we live in a society where distressingly large numbers of women go through sexual assault and violence perpetrated by men, and we can only assume the numbers are much higher than reported, I think we should really use that word when talking about actual predators.

Seems to me if people have been reading porn and very active sexually then they tend to look at "what's next that I haven't done"

Seems ther are more bi-guys or at least wannabes too...

I know if I was woman I would want to be with women too sometimes...probably quite a bit actually;)

Really? You think there are more bi-guys? Thats something I hadn't noticed (isn't surprising...its still seen as pretty unmanly to be with another guy), except here at Lit

I didn't mean bi guys than women....just more all the time than before.....we all look for soemthing different when we are bored....at least that is the way for me

i dont find it worrying. There have always been gay and bi women and men out there, i just think that because its more socially acceptable now and talked about openly now that a lot more feel secure enough to either experiment or admit who they are, yes it means that there may be less women out there willing to go with men but then thats their choice, im a straight man and i admit that by being straight im limiting the amount of potential partners i could have to just straight and bi women but thats my choice. im glad that its becoming easier for people to be who they want to be. Gay, straight, bi, go for it, have fun.

well, like I said, its soemthing I hadn't noticed, but i think its a good thing.
Our society is crazy nuts about restriciting sexual behavior and forcing people to identify based on sexual prefernce.
The more people who feel open about exploring and trying, the less these things will chain us.

Preach it! :)

WOW you both seem to be pretty confident on this broad generalization. I wish people were right when they make a strong statement like this.

the psychology appears to be right. We are all basically bi until we are told not to be.

Hey, that's just my personal opinion, take it or leave it.

Never said you had to drink my Kool-Aid.

I knew when posting this question I would get some varied responses. If you are a bi oriented person thats fine. I have no interest in other men at all and never have...being told I do is a little simple minded. I now have to watch television where every show has to have the gay character...why is that? I dont have any openly gay people in my immediate set of friends, but in the microcosm of tv every 6th person is gay. It is far to calculated to get ratings that they would represent it if there was not some truth to it. I loved the movie "Milk" Sean Penn was fantastic but it was a little hard to get around all the "gayness" as a straight guy. BTW I am not really threatened ...just posing the question.
