To a conference. Not in front of a judge but with a mediator.
Here are the choices:
Jeans, Boots, and a blouse, jacket or sweater.
or
Gray suit, black chiffon blouse with cranberry cami under, boots or pumps.

I'm saying I wanna save the latter for divorce day so i can go out for a few drinks after and choice one is was more soccer mom-ish.
Thoughts?
Suggestions?
Advice?

I would go with the first choice. That is what I did when I went through this. Wish you luck.

The soccer momish is fine for a mediator, as long as the clothes are in good condition - no hole, stains, etc. Besides, looking like a soccer mom has it's advantages.

yep...you get kissed by hot daddies

Well . . . there is that. But it also makes you look trustworthy and honest and all those things. I've gotten out of tickets, and I really think it had a lot to do with the whole soccer mom thing.

Do you have anything other than jeans for the first outfit? I've never done anything like that, obviously, but I always feel too dressed down in jeans, personally. I'd go for a blouse and black/brown/gray/whatever pants with a nice jacket. :)

Mediators will not judge you. They will not keep notes on how you appear. However....how you dress WILL give them an opinion about you and will be on their mind with every word that comes out of your mouth.

Unsolicited advice:
Make sure to keep open posture. Never cross your arms. Also do not use the words never or always. Show the mediator that you are self-aware about why things went wrong in areas that you are willing to negotiate.....and in areas you are not willing to negotiate....stand firm in a matter of fact positive way. If this is about kids....use them as the reason for anything you want. Most judges and mediators are only interested in the children in the case and not you or the dad. I have alot of experience in this subject unfortunately....so feel free to pm me if you like.

I would not go for sexy if you can at all help it. Trust me on that. I know it is within most of our nature to do so....resist the temptation here. I would not show cleavage. If you want...wear a v-neck that almost shows cleavage. That is classy sexy. Men have an imagination and if they are viewing you as sexy...they will do so with or without cleavage showing.

Also I agree with graceanne...no holes, tears, or stains....jeans are acceptable for mediation.

Yep. There's a difference between sexy and TOO sexy. Just a hint is sexy, the whole tit is TOO sexy. If you're dealing with cops/judges/mediators or whatever you want sexy, you don't want TOO sexy. lol

I dress as conservatively as possible, and I do project "soccer mom" vibe and find that works well when I need to appear trustworthy.

(I usually wear thigh-highs underneath so I can have something to chuckle about at least - ha ha no one knows I'm sexy under my clothes, ha ha).

For my divorce, a gazillion years ago, I wore a suit and I was the only one in the courtroom who did. This was TN, though LOL
