Fantasia

I'm in Boston visiting my sister for the next couple days. So if I'm slow to reply don't worry, it's temporary.

Would there be space for another female adventurer? Something bard like, perhaps?

I have the following to offer to the festivities:

Marissa Whitehall is the daughter of a prominent cleric in Wildecrest, but as she has grown she is beginning to drive her father to distraction. Her mother died when she was very young, and she was long prayed for by her parents, an only child. She has no patience for studying the gods and their service and is seemingly incapable of sitting still anymore. For the festival she has slipped out of their secure apartments and disguised herself as a street player, a bard, her sweet voice well able to back up her game. If she has enough fun (or finds enough trouble) she may run away permanently.

She's young and mostly human, though I'd like her to discover some angelic blood as the story moves on, low combat skills, but high levels of emotion driven magic. Long red-gold hair, green eyes, gifted in music and dance, with a light, cheerful nature.

Since Tears asked for more players I pm'ed her with the following profile and she thought it would work. It's late and this is a rough draft so it'll probably get tweaked in the morning after sleep and caffiene lol. Suggestions would be appreciated. :)

Name: Illyria Treesong
Age: 3500...appears about 18
Race: Green Dragon/ Ranger
Appearance: View attachment 984202

Personality: She's a bit of loner, preferring to remain in the forests she guards. She speaks her mind when she does encounter others, often to the point of putting them off speaking with her as she can be quite blunt. Once she's chosen to trust she's loyal and caring and trustworthy to a fault. It takes a lot to make her truly angry but once she is, she doesn't forgive quickly and true betrayal will leave one with a formidable enemy.

Background: Left an orphan by the Wizards War she grew up on her own. She learned early that the surest way to survive was to simply not be seen, and the easiest way to not be seen was to appear human and be where the fewest people were. Naturally drawn to the depths of the woods anyway, that is where she spent most of her time. This allowed her to hunt freely in her dragon form so she never went hungry and also gave her the opprotunity to trade with human caravans that traveled through her woods for those things she simply couldn't hunt for, such as clothing for her human form and small luxuries for the small cabin she'd built for herself over the years.

Her forests have developed a bit of a reputation for having a sprite or witch of some sort, no one is really sure which. Many claim to have seen this entity and it's said that if you make a deal with her she will guard your passage to safety...if not that terror will befall your passage. The truth is that she guards all the travelers through her forests that she can, but even a dragon can't be everywhere at once.

Name: Abrielle Loth-Loren
Age: Real age is 55 but a baby to the elves while her appearance is comparable to that of a human youth
Race: Elf
Hair: Long blonde
Eyes: Ice Blue

attachment.php

Background: The youngest daughter of the current elven rulers Abrielle has been trying to prove herself her entire life. Doted upon at times, neglected and removed from all responsibility at others Abrielle has struggled to find her place in the elven world. While her older siblings have each been given roles and left her one by one she can finally see her sixtieth birthday and approaching and with it her adulthood, her freedom.

Personality: Still considered rash and naïve by her instructors Abrielle will take action long before her peers have finished pondering the possible outcomes. Along with her love of nature and song Abrielle has the heart of warrior, and her years of training complement her natural grace and balance to make her a natural assassin. Abrielle is wise in the natural world, but naïve as a new born in the ways of man and for that reason never travels without the two small blades strapped to her side.

The wind whispers and the very earth shakes with the knowledge a black dragon has resurfaced. King and queen Loth-Loren call a meeting of the wisest seers but no answer can be divined. A black dragon is as powerful as it is old and its disguise even beguiles their power. With no other choice the Elves send forth a single agent, to divine the secrets on the wind and if there is a dragon still alive to make sure their dominion never again returns.

To the emerald kingdom they send Abrielle, their own daughter.

Name: Krawko Luvia
- http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o435/Haruko90210/06_144503_xum18888.jpg
Race: Human
Age: 29
Class: Wizard
Equipment:
-Emerald Staff
This staff allows for a more powerful affect of the magics
-Short Sword
A simple sword to use when the fighting gets a little too close

Krawko was born in an Imperialistic city, given the riches and toys any boy could want. As he grew older his parents knew he was different, he was powerful in his own way. They started training him, not physically or mentally, but magically.

He was given a wand at the age of 7 and quickly grew with it. His power over the forces grew, far stronger than his parents predicted. He became the head of a magical division that handled security for the entire city.

The city, Kelethin, was started by a league of wizards. Simply known today as the elders, were a council of the worlds seven best wizards. They controlled all within the kingdom. It started small, only allowing magicians and magical beings into their walls. However, they rapidly expanded and began allowing normal people within the city.

All those that showed magical powers were trained to be great wizards, excelling in different elements and powers. Eventually the city that was made of nothing more than a bit of stone and wood turned into a beautiful city. It was decorated in gold and green, as was custom with cities in the Emerald Kingdom.

It lied many miles north of Wildecrest, within trading distance of many cities. It's chief export was gems, some magical gems that held great power. Though the magical gems were sold only to other mage's. It quickly became one of the greater cities in the kingdom, being well renown.

Elder's never simply gave up their positions on the council. They either died of age or were fought for their seat. Only the best could be part of the council. The council controlled all trade, traffic, and security. The guards consisted only of mage's, separate ranks for a mage as they grew in power.

When Krawko turned 20 he challenged Lucien for his seat on the council. It was a fierce battle that drew on for some time. However, Krawko lasted and won the seat of the elders. He remained there, head of security for three years.

At the age of 23 he began thinking of a new life, one more adventurous. He left the city to travel the world and meet new people. Though not all he met were good. He spent much time traveling, selling things he had with him and object he had found through out his travels.

He gained even more riches as he continued trading with random merchants. He did manage to find himself in a bit of a pickle many times. He often attempted to scam some people that he found to be less than good people.

Of course, his will over magic aided him greatly. It was only once he got into a full blown skirmish. A few rivaling villages had been at each others throats for some time. Luckily it was small time stuff but it escalated soon after he got there.

He fought for one of the villages, leading them to an easy victory. Though, through time he heard of a festival going on in Wildecrest. Krawko mulled it over for some time before deciding to head for the center of the Emerald Kingdom.

~pouts~ I liked where this thread could have gone. Ah well...will just have to tuck Illyria away for another thread.

In all likelihood I'll change my mind in about a half hour after I've had a few shots, and I'll try and get the ball rolling again. I just figured after about... 9 to 10 days of inactivity the thread was cold again. Haven't heard from Chester... at all, Light_Ice promised me a post earlier in the week but he's since moved on to newer threads.

Anyways... thanks for showing interest, Caela. Hopefully I'll be able to piece together a solid group of players for round 3 :)

Let me know when you do. I'd started Moving Illyria toward town and was just waiting for a few more posts from people before getting her there since I'd said the journey would take a couple days lol. Tell those boys to get their asses back in here and write! :p

Eh, in all likelihood, considering how slow the thread was moving, you'd have waited around a month or two IRL before making it town. I'm not waiting that long for posts.

lol...I wouldn't have waited quite that long. But you're right it was going slow. Course it doesn't help to have people dropping off like that.

Still I like the story itself...maybe it's time to restart it as a whole new thread...with a fresh OOC to get a different cast of writers...just a thought. It's your thread...I'll follow where you take it. :)

Eh, the thread itself is still rather new so I don't want to wipe the slate clean yet. It's fresh enough to allow for new characters to jump in without having to sift through a whole mess of plot.

True...though some people don't like jumping into an established (even if it's only a couple pages) thread. I think they're intimidated or something...meh! Silly boys getting all distracted.

If only I could find dedicated male writers I wouldn't even have to face this issue -_-;

Ugh, I need more alcohol.

I mean really... all I need to keep my spirits up is a simple PM

"Tears, I know it's been a few days but I'm [INSERT RANDOM EXCUSE]. I'll try and get a post out as soon as I can."

That's all it takes. Does that usually happen? Nope. Just a weeks worth of silence.

Want me to beat them up for you?

Eh, well I've put up an ad looking for more.

I hope it works out. Am off to bed. Have to be up early to get a good lane in the pool at the gym in the morning...meh! Part of me is really trying to talk myself out of that one!
