I didn't drink beer until I lived overseas and went to parties where I knew my foreign hosts couldn't afford the real stuff--so I would take a beer and nurse it all night. (And send them a bottle of Johnny Walker Red for a thank you present.)

I remember the first such party I went to on Cyprus, where one of my subordinates asked for a Brandy sour, and I crawled all over him the next morning for asking for something that fancy at a local's party--only to discover that Brandy sours are almost the national drink of Cyprus and Cypriot Brandy is cheaper than bottled water there.

Urgh, I hate the peeing 100% beer thing. We used to have a 25 cent draft night at the bar next to work. I think I actually puked cold beer once. I was a human keg. Gah.
