Hockey season opened today. I'm an avid hockey fan, but with the new season comes the inevitable shortening of days and the approaching long dark winter nights.
As pedestrian as the analogy always has been, the older one gets the more the changing of the seasons possesses melancholy parallels to one's life.

Oh, speaking of ski lessons, someone from PMR just gave me a pair of skis with skins and boots. I'll put AT bindings on them soon and be good to go again. That means that other pair of boards in my garage is unused...you need tele sticks?

I've been playing hard. Time in the desert with Lady P and then more recently a hike up Mt St Helens. Kicked my ass. But life is good.

I love my tele sticks. And they're classics.
But they're a bit too long.
I remember when I was a snob about not skiing on anything shorter than 205s. That was skinny alpine borads. Now I'm finding shaped 185 tele boards too long.
So, in short, if they're shorter than 185 I may be interested.
But my Black Diamonds are still fairly sweet.

even i disagree with me but i want him to stay. all this time he's been here and i only got to meet him once. it's a god damn shame and it makes me sad. but i do hope that in my travels i will get to see the east coast some day and then maybe i'll give him a ring. i've been to florida, but that doesn't count. i want some real east coastyness.

Hello, all. I just wanted to mention that everyone can calm their qualms because I fully intend on mastering and marketing and mass master marketing teleportation and you will all the receive the special "fellow human" discount.

More importantly, however, the word hockey caught my eye, and I just wanted to take this minute to gloat and say with the politest and humblest of intentions SUCK IT CANADA because the land of sand and summers hot enough to make you consider setting yourself on fire just to cool off still has an ice hockey team that YOU wanted haha we win.

It's a beautiful mountain. Totally worth seeing. The way the side of the crater was blown out is amazing. Yup...still moving...paramedic school in Boston starts in January. I'll miss the West a lot though.
