Do you respond to ads placed by people who have blank profiles?

When someone takes the time to write a personal ad that is at least minimally interesting, do you check their Literotica profile to determine basic info about the writer?

I check because I wish to know little things, such as; is this person a male, female or hermaphrodite? Is the writer straight, bi, gay, lesbian or asexual? Are they located in the eastern European country of Georgia or the state of Georgia? And then I might wish to have some idea about whether the writer is 9 or 109 years old.

Do others find these ads interesting but not that exciting when the writer has hidden everything about themselves. Do you respond to these ads?

for my own perspective, if it's their first post, and they've little to no details at all in their profile then I wouldn't bother...

on the other hand, if it's an interesting post, and their profile seems like at least part of an attempt has been made... :)

Well .... I generally don't respond to ads ;). But I would imagine if someone took the time to write one that was in-depth and well thought-out then it most likely makes no difference whether they filled out their profile or not. I'm sure there are people who simply want to jump into the conversation without taking the time to fill in all those little text boxes. Just playin devil's advocate here.

It depends on what their ad says. If their ad gives all the relevant information, then I really don't care what their profile says (although I will check it out). For example, if someone is looking for an online only "relationship" then where they live is not important to me

pet peeve!!! I don't like getting one or three word pm's from people who have NO info in their profile... for all the same reasons... you might be a truly interesting person, and someone I would enjoy talking to... but if you don't give me at least something to be interested in... delete....

A lot depends on what is in the post. If there is no info in the profile and the total posts are below 10, red flags go up.

I agree with your thoughts on inept IM's and I'll admit that I simply delete this type of PM without giving it a second thought.

I also see numerous postings where the person has written a few sentences that might be intriguing but contains no info in reference to their gender or anything else.

When I go to their profile I frequently find it blank or pure rubbish the writer obviously thinks is cute but provides no information. Even though their post initially caught my attention; their total lack of personal information lost my attention just as quickly.

A totally blank profile seems shifty to me, that the guy's hedging his bets. If you've posted an ad, you should expect people to check your profile and you should take the 2 minutes or whatever it is to throw them a bone. A totally blank profile screams 'I will tell you anything under the sun if it will get me laid.' It's a total turn off to me.

I read their profile

If I am interested, I want to know as much as possible. If there is nothing at their profile, I do not go any further. To the extent that it is possible, I like transparency. After all, if you are posting you are advertising.

Well said! :)

A blank profile to me suggests an inability to put effort, planning, and forethought into subsequent activities. And how much fun would that be, seriously?;)

THIS is my favorite point thus far. And I believe I can answer, not any at all.

Ok, I am new here, but I put all my info in my personal - is that not good enough? Do I have to repeat all that in my profile?
I stated my gender and age, I dont see the reason to state my location since I am looking for exclusively online friends.

Now did I break some unwritten rule when leaving my profile blank? I am genuinely interested.

Hi
Your personal info is only visible to the staff at Literotica, and if that’s the only people whom you expect to communicate, then you’re certainly in good shape. However if you wish to contact others who post ads or if you ever choose to post an ad, then many will decide whether they wish to communicate with you based on your personal profile.

You have read what others say about blank profiles, and yours is as blank as it can possibly be, so it’s totally up to you. If you don’t wish to be bothered and have no wish to attract others to you and/or any personal ads you might choose to post, then leave the profile blank and you are perfectly safe. Well, perhaps not perfectly safe because you might draw the attention of others who don’t have the incentive or ambition to fill out their profiles either.

Have a great weekend.

:D

I did post a personal ad, and I wrote my info in it - I thought that was enough.

I've found your post and read it; you did a good job in providing the pertinent info in the post. That works! It's those who don’t include the info in either their post or their profile that most people have a problem.

Have a great day :).

I'm like you, I need to know more information than what is just posted on a thread. For all we know it was copied and pasted from some other forum on the web.
