This is what gets me about this Acorn scandal. Where are the victims? And that's the problem. They're aren't any. With all the real suffering in the world here and overseas, real children starving, sexually exploited, exploited for their labor, homelessness, no health care, suffering needlessly etc., what does the right wing do?

They manufacture outrage. They don't see real world suffering and try to alleviate it. They decide who they don't like and try by hook or by crook to pin something on them.

Funny you never see the left wing having to trick Halliburton, KBR, or any number of defense contractors and off shore sweat shops into committing crimes. The left wing vilifies these organizations because the victims are real. They didn't have to be manufactured. They are not made up, pretend victims used as a foil to manipulate opinions.

The right wing doesn't really care about exploited children. They are only a commodity to be used when trying to attack their political opponents.

Dude they got busted actin a fool.

Deal with it.

They dont deserve your support, and wont get mine.

We do try to alleviate suffering....we say "it's a free country, take responsibility for yourself, learn a trade, learn a way of life and go do your best!" and provide the ways and means for people to make choices and thrive. There's a safety net for those who can't (mentally ill, for example). We believe in the constitution and in equal opportunity. We believe in freedom. We believe this creates the best environment for people to thrive...responsibility, accomplishment and self-motivation.

We don't believe in coddling and "Nanny" politics. We don't believe that a few democrat elites are superior to everyone else and don't believe that we ought to turn over all the major decisions of our lives to them. We don't believe that our government was put here to be an all-powerful force in our lives used to control minute aspects of our lives and instead believe in a small government with only the powers specifically enumerated in the constitution to create a simple environment of equal opportunity and then to get out of the way. We believe in equal opportunity, but don't believe in forcible equal outcomes.

Our philosophy can be summarized simply, "you get out what you put in" and don't need a bunch of self-important elected officials to tell us how to live. We don't believe in the soft tyranny of elite effeminate eastern swills. We also believe that power corrupts and to give people, even elected officials, large amounts of power inevitably leads to abuse and corruption (witness the "stimulus/earmark" bill and the closing of well-regarded auto-dealerships who's only offense was supporting Republican candidates). Power corrupts...leave power in the hands of people, not democrat leaders.

You don't get it. I don't give a shit about Acorn. What I do care about is real journalism and exploited children. This story has neither.

You are so full of it. What safety net for the mentally ill? I step over them everyday as they piss and shit themselves on the sidewalk.

You should go live in a shelter then and get off the streets. There are shelters available and lots of people in churches all over the country willing to lend you a hand.

The people of the United States Of America are ACORN's intended victims.

How do not realize this?

So what happened to the last six to eight years?

If you guys were so perfect, why didn't you make things better? Why did the kingdom you were building — for the lucky few instead of the deserving many you claim to represent — fall apart so easily? Why couldn't all those Ponzi schemes flourishing under your mantle keep going on a few more years, just to keep everyone in work a little while longer and the illusion of happiness and security flowing in our bloodstreams?

HUH?

You've been punk'd. The right wing is trying to establish a moral equivalency between right wing corruption and left wing corruption. Bernie Madoff making off with hundreds of millions of average people's life savings is not the same as some minimum wage ghetto woman giving bad advice.

If you really think these film makers and the right wing give a rat's ass about exploited children or political corruption you've been played like a deck of cards.

You are really fucking stupid and completely clueless. Homelessness and the mentally ill are a very serious problem. When you're ready to have a grown up discussion about it let me know.

So we can go ahead and get rid of all the blue laws, sodomy laws, and restrictions on same-sex unions, then?

Neat.

True.

But also, they get tax payer money. Only elected officials are allowed to engage in prostitution rings while sucking at the public teet (east of the Mississippi "public teat").

When 9 billion dollars cash money goes ghost in Iraq you didn't here a peep out of the right wing. Please spare me on your fiscal conservatism. The right wing relinquished that canard years ago. Give it rest. That dog just won't hunt anymore.

What kind of dog was it. Link?

So if an organization that collects taxpayer money offers advice to someone off the street about how to import and prostitute third-world girls, there's no story there?

Nope. You are just a racist/hater/wingnut/rightwing loon.

No story here, just move along now, move along.

Haven't watched the video have you?

The Acorn Employees didn't even flinch when the fake Pimp and Ho said they were using underage teens from Central America.

ACORN - No outrage, no compassion for these young girls.

They were most likely raised by the system or single mom's and turned out like their IDIOTS Deadbeat Fathers!

It's a story on the level of the runaway bride. It's all sizzle and no steak. How many people are affected? What is the damage to persons or property? What is the monetary damage? How much will it cost the make things whole? This is cheap sensationalism.

Brown people. Oh noes!

You're missing the point. There are "real" underage teens being exploited and these people aren't doing a story on that. Why aren't they covering that story? Why aren't they trying to put real child exploiters behind bars? You know, real crimes with real victims.

On the other hand:

"The fact is there are lots of stories that Americans care deeply about that simply hold no interest for so-called mainstream journalists. I get the impression that if FOX News decides to run with a story that may, for example, reflect badly on President Obama or one that puts a spotlight on some liberal judge who let’s child molesters off with (barely) a slap on the wrist, the mainstream media won’t go near it. That may be regrettable, but I fear it’s true."
