The same two or three people post these threads to a writers porn board. Like we really care. We are hear to relax and enjoy ourselves. If we can talk writing occasionally that's good also.

They won't make a political forum, so what do we do. It's very easy. Don't post to them and they will fall off the bottom of the page. It's the only weapon we have against idiots that aren't smart enough to post to political forums. And yes I mean that both ways.

I opened the AH this morning around 5 or so and the top 9 threads were all political.

I have no one on ignore.

I more or less do that anyway. It's pointless to speak in a me-too echo chamber with a few random -- generally snarky and even more snarked at -- dissenters. My ignore list is single digits, but fair percentages of those threads are blocks of "user ignored" anyway.

One easy solution, if you have a poli-thread habit or irritation, is to put Amicus and JBJ on ignore. That will make half or more of the political threads invisible, and make it easier to quit the habit. Can't ignore Pure, unfortunately, so you're stuck with those.

It will calm down after the U.S. election, indeed Thanks to 24-hour news cycles, pushed up primary dates, and the generally nasty environment of politics in this country, the election cycles never really end, they just roll one into another, into perpetuity.

I know, I see them through titles every so often on the front page of the forum, and I don't have both of them on ignore. Just decided that with the one, it simply wasn't worth wading through the sewage to find the gems.
