Weight on your report card.
What's next, dick size on your resume?
In some states they are weighing kids and putting it on their report cards. To me that is humiliation. Both the kid and the parents already know he or she is overweight.
how about instead of humiliating and psychologically scarring kids by weighing them, the schools bring back P.E. instead. P.E. programs are going the way of the dinosaur...Daddy's son has never heard of phys ed, and he's attended both private and public schools.
My brain just broke.
my fave event in the Pres. Physical Fitness Test, i always smoked everyone:

What kills me about things like this is that they have these kids. They know these kids are overweight. But then, instead of, say, using gym to give them actual workouts (biking, lifting weights, stairmaster, stretching) they make them play basketball, or do track and field things.
That
doesn't
help.
In fact, its downright pointless anyhow. Gym shouldn't be about playing games. It should be about learning how to take care of your body and stay fit.
In practice, most of the time gym is more about putting the weaker kids down.
Have you ever worked out? Did you think it was fun? Do you think a kid will think its fun?
They have kids play games as a way to get them to exercise and still have fun.
It's still not fun. It's only fun if you get to play games you actually like as opposed to mindless games of kickball or something equally dull for months on end. Does anybody even LIKE kickball? (Hell, it requires the same number of people and facilities as softball; let's play that instead.) Or dodgeball, OMG. A stupider game I can't possibly imagine.

actually i used to love kickball, it was one of the very few sports we were forced to play in school that i didn't dread. why? because kicking, unlike softball/basketball/tennis/football/etc. does not require hand-eye coordination, nor balance, two things which i very much lack. i can kick a ball, kick it hard, and remain standing upright while doing it as opposed to falling on my bum. hence, i loved kickball. it is a sport built for geeks, lol.
