Is it responsible for the decline of poetry on Literotica?
I'm over there as a detestable newb just because of the artistry of the place. There are some creative nerds who hang (hehehe literally) out in some excellent digital art. 'Sides, I like my avatar...
<<< see her? That's moi.

For me, First Life is the culprit. Is it responsible for the decline of poetry on Literotica?
Are you only still on your first? I've been through several already
Ee's dad always says that he (ee) has been through five or six already.
Only remember this one, but from long ago almost seems like another life.
And there are some times back there I'd like a redo ...
I would not go back to for any amount of inducement just thinking about how life was when I was a child scares the hell out of me. I suppose I should just be glad I survived but with what mental scars?
Has Lit's poetry declined?
How? In reduced quantity? Or in reduced quality? If quality then I'm not convinced. Quality is in the head of the reader.
My limited poetry output hasn't increased for some years but in my real life I have managed to implement an annual event that has got poetry literally on the streets of our town - in chalk on the flagstones!

There aren't places from now long ago you'd like to redo? Maybe when a little older than childhood (But I have no issues there, just from when a young man).
and with what attributes and positive attitudes?
i'm glad you survived.

poetry on chalk on flagstones... do you have any idea how tempting that is??? wow. what date do you do it Ogg?
It was Monday.
Last year we had three hundred individuals who had written poems by the end of the day but only about ninety poems were chalked on the pavestones. We used one overworked Art graduate to do the chalking.
This year we haven't counted the number of participants yet but we used three overworked Art graduates and covered about three times the area of flagstones. We asked for short poems to cut down on the chalking time. Even so, some extemporaneous poems were eight or more verses long.
At least half the poems had rhyme and metre. As usual Limericks were popular.
Another initiative this year is random games chalked around the town. Hopscotch grids appear and disappear. A chess board has been played on with different colured beach pebbles used as draughts. Snakes and Ladders and Ludo are more difficult to draw but our trusty Art graduates are competent even if my face appeared on one of the snakes.
Last year's chalk poetry lasted about ten days before the rain washed them away. During those ten days more poems appeared written by the public.

PS. Each year at least one of the poems is mine. I won't post them because they identify where I live.
