What does your voice sound like?

Mine has a similar tone to Ronald Reagan's (we're distant relatives, actually).

My natural speaking voice sounds similar to granite shards, squeaking and scraping together.
Have you ever heard a sea gull screaming the words,
Park the Car in Harvard Yard?

That would be one retarded seagull since only security is allowed to bring cars into the yard.

At one point someone here had a thread where you could go and record your voice for other posters to hear.

I think it was Dolf.

I occasionally have been called "Ma'am" on the phone...

ETA: the link was fucked.

LOL I remember listening to that recording of your voice and being heart broken that you didn't sound as manly as I envisioned you. Your voice actually sounds better in person

I've been told I sound somewhat like Ellen Degeneres. :/

I dunno. I've got an audio story in the submission queue. If this thread is still alive tomorrow when this week's posts go up (provided mine gets passed through), I'll post a link to it.

Your toes are rather quiet, Perg.
Yeah, I don't know why the sound didn't come through.

Well, that's some consolation I guess. I do have a pretty damn intimidating "sergeant voice," or so I hear.

May be when you're playing sergeant but in a more relaxed atmosphere you are actually relaxing to be around.

Mine's on the deep side and kind of...smooth, I've heard (sounds nasally to me, though). I've also been told it can be comforting or arousing, depending on the situation.

I had audio segments up that were of a sexual nature. I was told my voice was very feminine and soft. Well, except for when there was a lot of noise making going on.
This is good to know, yes it is.

I do voices so it depends on who you need me to be. My regular voice has an SF Sicilian quality to it that sometimes makes people think I'm from NY. Not high or low, just fem with a little husk to it. It might come across as a 'smoker's' voice but not much. When I MC at events I drop it into a more sultry quality and make great effort to enunciate. When I do acting reads it depends on the product. Folger's coffee is different than Rogaine for Women. (I kid you not) My agent enjoyed my soap opera hospital hallway drama read but I didn't get the part because of my height. When I'm drunk I'm most likely to slip into a sort of valley girl thing which involves a dumb 'blond' quality that I think is funny. Doing country voices and granny or witchy voices are most fun.

That's hot.

You're hot, babe.

But, looking at the weather map, so's most of the country.

Besides, I have never known a woman to go all gushy when I say "Please consider making a donation to your local NPR station."

There used to be a thread around here about pick a member you think is interesting and PM them... Of course, I've changed my phone number since then, but I'll gladly give it to those who are deemed worthy. :p
