It's late, I'm bored, there's no inspiration to write at the moment, so I figured to make a little game. Probably won't see too many (if any) responses until tomorrow, but what the hell. It's giving me something to do.

I'm going to post ten quotes from various movies. Some are probably paraphrased, but they're close enough to recognize. Some might be easy, others difficult. For each one, list the actor/actress, the name of the character, and the movie the quote is from. No Googling. ;)

1. "I am here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm fresh out of bubblegum."

2. "What, Ray? What just 'popped in there?'"

3. "May the wings of liberty never lose a feather."

4. "I'm not going to drain you completely. I'll make you my pet, and at my command, you will lick the dog shit from my boot heels."

5. "Them graboids don't kill him, I will."

6. "Seize this, honkus!"

7. "Do you mind, Dad? I'm about to make a little chicken salad out of chicken shit, here."

8. "Get away from her, you BITCH!"

9. "Pain don't hurt."

10. "You have no power over me."

Have at it. :D The winner earns the Crown of Geekdom.

1. They Live
2. Ghostbusters
3. ?
4. ?
5. Tremors
6. ?
7. ?
8. Aliens
9. Roadhouse (one of my all-time favorite guilty pleasures)
10. ?

The answers to 7 and 10 are going to make me cuss because they sound so familiar but I can't think what they're from.

The answers you gave are correct regarding the movie titles, but not the actor/actress or character names. ;)

1. "I am here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm fresh out of bubblegum."
Roddy Piper - Nada - They Live

2. "What, Ray? What just 'popped in there?'"
Bill Murray - Venkman - Ghostbusters

3. "May the wings of liberty never lose a feather."
I really want to say, "Kurt Russel - Jack Burton - Big Trouble in Little China," but another part of me doesn't think that is right...

4. "I'm not going to drain you completely. I'll make you my pet, and at my command, you will lick the dog shit from my boot heels."
____________________________ (I know when I hear it I will feel so inadequate for not remembering it :( )

5. "Them graboids don't kill him, I will."
________________________ Tremors (I know I know the actor's name, but it just isn't coming to me :( )

6. "Seize this, honkus!"

7. "Do you mind, Dad? I'm about to make a little chicken salad out of chicken shit, here."

8. "Get away from her, you BITCH!"
Sigorny Weaver - Riply - Aliens

9. "Pain don't hurt."

10. "You have no power over me."
Jennifer Connely - Sarah - Labyrynth

#9

Patrick Swayze as Dalton to Kelly Lynch's Doc stitching him up.

I used to collect the phrases from that movie - it's chock full of cliches!

Pain don't hurt.

My way or the highway.

I want you to be nice until it's time to not be nice.

I used to fuck guys like you in prison.

I'll get all the sleep I need when I'm dead.

All you have to do is follow three simple rules...

Here's one for you: You always make me drive and you never fuck me anymore.

I guess I have CRS. It's my legal excuse for being old.
Can't Remember Shit. I must have a bad case of it, because the movies listed so far, I've seen the all.

4. Salma Hayek = Santanico Pandemonium From Dusk till Dawn

5. Kevin Bacon = Valentine Tremors

6. History of the World 1... can't remember the actor

I think Thee is right on three :)

6. "Seize this, honkus!"

History of the World Part I - Josephus - Gregory Hines.

Knew the Ghostbusters, but somebody has already got that one.

Between the three of you, you got 'em.

Your gut reaction on #3 was right, Thee. ;)

But . . . no one got #7?

I'll give you a hint: the movie that line appears in co-stars Lloyd Bridges.

7. "Do you mind, Dad? I'm about to make a little chicken salad out of chicken shit, here."

I'm really guessing at this one... the Woodsman?

whats the answer Slyc...

Okay, okay. :p The answer is . . . .

Larry Fortenski, played by Ted Danson in the film Cousins. He says that line to his father, at the older man's wedding reception, as Ted is facing the husband of his lover, played by William Peterson.

Earlier in the film, when it's discovered that Danson's and Isabella Rosselini's characters have been flirting (to give the impression they're having an affair, to get back at their own spouses who were having an affair), Lloyd Bridges tells Danson: "You've got two choices in life. You can either make it chicken shit, or chicken salad!"

It's one of my favorite romantic comedies. Came out in, I believe, 1986 or 87.

I'm so not the pop culture geek on movies.

Oh yeah, I know Star Wars and Indy and all. But then my knowledge jumps back to things like Casablanca.

I guess I'm an elitist movie geek. *shrug*

Not too elitist though. I knew the Big Trouble and Ghostbusters ones...

I think it's mandatory for every guy who was a teenager in the 80s to be able to quote the inimitable wisdom of Jack Burton.

"You know what Jack Burton always says at a time like this?"

"Who?"

"Jack Burton. Me. Jack Burton always says . . . what the hell."

that was fun Slyc, man, I remember the movie Cousins too, but just couldn't come up with it!

I really didn't like that movie when I saw it way back when, and have been doing my best to forget it ever since ;)

Okay, what the hell. Ten more quotes. Supply the character's name, name of the actor/actress, and the film. Again, they may be paraphrased a bit.

1. "Mister, you ever seen what a Henry rifle can do in the hands of someone who knows how to use it?"

2. "Put . . . ze candle . . . beck!"

3. "Did you just call me chicken?"

4. "This is a simple game. You throw the ball, you hit the ball, you catch the ball."

5. "Sometimes, you have to run before you can walk."

6. "It's still . . . juicy."

7. "This, for example, is filed under 'H,' for 'toy.'"

8. "It's a . . . space herpie."

9. "Every woman wants proof that her legs haven't been uncrossed for nothing."

10. "He ain't all there, is he?"

I have a feeling I'll be surprised by which ones are difficult to nail, and which ones aren't. As before, no Googling. ;)

1. "Mister, you ever seen what a Henry rifle can do in the hands of someone who knows how to use it?"

Keep thinking Unforgiven, but the line isn't popping into my head.

2. "Put . . . ze candle . . . beck!"

Young Frankenstein. This one's a little vague. Could be Teri Garr as Inga, or Gene Wilder as Dr. Frankenstein. Pretty sure you're going for the first, though.

3. "Did you just call me chicken?"
Back to the future ( actually comes up in more than one in the series, if I remember correctly ) Michael J. Fox, Marty McFly

6. "It's still . . . juicy."

The Mummy. Mixed quote, from three characters. First half, Rachel... something (Evelyn). Second half, Brendan Frasier (Rick O'connel) and Jonathon simultaneously... the actor's name is John something *laugh*

Wouldn't be fair for me to do these. I like too many somewhat obscure films...

"You get to drink from THE FIREHOSE!" *laugh* See if anybody knows that one.
