New to the site and am excited about it...a friend directed me to this site.

I write for fun and also as a way to vent frustration and be creative all at the same time. Am hoping too to maybe make some money with my stories and not real sure how to go about that??

Have a question about submitting stories. I submitted 2 the other day and they showed up as being submitted for review and approval and now they don't?? Am pretty sure I followed the guidelines...

Am looking forward to posting more once I get these first 2 on here...have just started writing a book that is a comination of non-fiction/memoir with some fictional lusty romance in it.

Well anyways...looking forward to seeing what this site has to offer the novice writer!

Afraid you'll have to be more specific about what shows on these stories. Did their listings just disappear after having been listed as pending? (Have never heard of that happening before.)

Are they now listed as "rejected"? If so, there is a reason given. What is it?

What exactly does the last block on the right next to them say? There's no way of figuring out what's wrong from the information you have provided.

As to making money off of your erotica, I know that the website Ruthie's Club buys fiction, as does the eXcessica website sr71plt mentions in his signature tag. And I doubt those are the only sites that do so. Plus, there's probably treeware magazines that will take stories--Stephen King, for instance, used to submit to Playboy back when they still printed "normal" (IE non-erotic) fiction. (Could someone who actually reads that magazine please confirm whether they print any stories now?) Having said that, the circulation off a website service may not be the greatest, the fees off a website service may not be the greatest, and--this goes without saying--the quality of your work would need to be high, especially if you want to see print in a treeware magazine. It's a publisher's market, because there are thousands of would-be writers (such as Tara Gilesbie) who want a slice of the pie. Especially in today's economy, when everyone and their mother is scrambling for supplementary income. =/

Note that eXcessia isn't a Website for stories. EXcessica an e-book and print book publisher.

Actually I just checked and they are now showing as pending approval...lol I think yesterday I didn't look in the right spot. I haven't spent much time on this site yet obviously and am still learning the control panel.

Thanks though for the response :)

Great. Now, don't mess with them until they post--because if you do, they will drop to the end of the posting queue again. Hope you get a good reception for them from the readers.

Website Stories vs e-books

Note that eXcessia isn't a Website for stories. EXcessica an e-book and print book publisher.

I will look into Excessica...that sounds more like how I would like to present my stories for print in either e-book or print book publications, especially since I am working on my own book and will offer it both ways when I am done.

Thanks!

I will take this under great consideration after I have gotten some feedback on my submissions here. It's been a while since I have written and want to provide good quality reading! My friends that have read what I have submitted on here (that are pending review) have told me they are good but we shall find out what people have to say that don't know me in person (maybe my friends just don't want to hurt my feelings...lol) figure it's worth a shot!

Writing used to be a passion especially poetry (I have a musician friend who is composing music for some poems I wrote way back when and is turning them into songs) short stories are more up my alley now in addition to my book that I am working on. It obviously will be a work in progress and I don't have a timeframe for completion at this point.

Thanks!
