I am new here so apologies if this is a regular complaint. I just posted my first story on here. It is nothing much, just a little stroke story about some mild exhibitionism and a quick bit of public lovin'. I categorized it in the 'Loving Wives' section and you just would not believe some of the psycho comments I have had flaming towards me.

Why would someone click on a loving wives story, read (or not read it) then flame the author (voting 1) about it being a loving wives story? Do people go on the BDSM stories and complain about whips? Are these people actually insane?

I'd link in the story so you can see how harmless it is but I am stooopid and I don't know how

90% of the commenters on LW have an agenda, and it's pretty much impossible to escape comments that are fiction/reality challenged, have nothing to do with the story because they didn't read it, just incoherent venom-spitting...

You get the picture. There are multiple camps, and if you make one happy, you piss off the other two, who feel it is their duty to leave nasty comments to prevent the likes of you from befouling their category with that type of story again, and to serve as an example to any fool who would follow in your footsteps.

As to how to link the story:

Go to the first page of your story.
At the top, in your browser's address bar, right click and select "copy"
Start a post ( or go to your signature edit, etc. ), right click on the text window, select "paste"

Done! The lit forum automatically changes this into a link for you when you hit submit on the post/signature, like this:

http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=415489

If you want to be a bit more elegent, you can display the title of your story instead of the number/letter salad link.

To do that, copy the link, as above, and then follow this template:

YOUR TITLE

For my story "Forever of the Wood", that looks like this:

Forever of the Wood

and comes out like this:

Forever of the Wood

An even shorter version uses only the Lit ID of your story ( that # at the end of the link )

[story=415489]Forever of the Wood[/story]

This produces the same link as the one above.

Welcome to the forums, and sorry that your first experience with the readers of Lit had to be the LW bunch *laugh* Even they aren't all bad, and there are a lot of readers who will appreciate your work, and even offer useful, constructive criticism sometimes.

We should make that a stickie too.

My proposed Stickie thread said:
Q: Why did my Loving Wives story get such a low score?
A: Because you posted it in Loving Wives. Write elsewhere if you want people to evaluate you based on whether the story is actually good.

Thanks. I wondered what the magic trick was to do that.
