A long, long, long time ago an old acquaintance of my parents observed, "The trouble with these kids today is that they take everything too seriously." People need to remember that this is, after all, an INTERNET CHAT ROOM. IT IS NOT REAL LIFE. If people come here to get their jollies, they've got problems.

There are occasionally times people around heah piss me off for their rank stupidity or for their incredible naivté or for their astounding gullibility or for their mind-boggling innumeracy— some of 'em ( and I pretty much know which ones ) know my "hot buttons" and make a deliberate effort to push 'em. For the most part, I successfully gloss over patently obvious baiting and hopelessly ridiculous flights of utopian fantasy. Life's too short to worry about insignificant stuff.

You have a real ability to get attention using words. The New Republic or Air America or Ariana or Fox or CBS or Bill Mahr or any of the places whose business it is to stir up controversy to attract ears and eyeballs could use your talents.
