There are pigs who lie you into war, and there are pigs who profit off war, and there are even war pigs who start wars just for kicks.

But when it comes to the utter banality of evil and the liquid pools of festering shit that sometimes passes for human brains, it would be hard to top "Colonel Ralph Peters," a monstrous piece of scum that actually went on O'Reilly's Echo Chamber of the Damned and literally called for the execution of a captured US soldier.

According to NBC’s top Pentagon correspondent, the Department of Defense is furious with Fox News analyst Ralph Peters, who said on July 19 that the Taliban should murder 23-year-old Private First Class Bowe Bergdahl, captured after he strayed from his post, to save the Army “legal hassles and legal bills.”

Peters, a well-known Neoconservative and frequent Fox News guest, attempted to clarify his shocking statement on Tuesday night’s O’Reilly Factor, telling right-wing host Bill O’Reilly he believes that Bergdahl had “deserted” his unit and deserved no sympathy. He did not apologize. O’Reilly added that Bergdahl must be “crazy.”

However, Wednesday night MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow fired back, interviewing Jim Miklaszewski, NBC’s top Pentagon correspondent, who said the Department of Defense is furious with Peters and Fox News, adding there is no evidence that Bergdahl is a deserter.

Peters’ and O’Reilly’s insidious comments drew a sharp reaction from a bipartisan group of 22 veteran members of Congress, who all signed a letter demanding Fox News CEO Roger Ailes apologize to Bergdahl’s family for allowing a guest on his network to provide “aid and comfort” to America’s enemies.

“Mr. Peters’ indefensible comments call into question, without any supporting evidence whatsoever, PFC Bergdahl’s patriotism and commitment to his country, and suggest in a non-subtle way that he deserved to be captured,” they wrote. “The truth is that Mr. Peters’ words give more aid and comfort to the enemy…and put PFC Bergdahl at additional risk of harm.”

Congressman Eric Massa (D-NY), a former Navy commander who joined the 22 members of Congress in signing the letter, went a step further and called on Fox News to fire both O’Reilly and Peters.

“Their comments aid and abet our enemies during a time of war and the burden is on Fox News to prove that they reject this by taking the tangible action of issuing an apology and firing both of them,” he wrote.

Jim Miklaszewski, NBC’s Pentagon correspondent, told Maddow on Wednesday night that Bergdahl “came off patrol on June 30th, dropped off his weapon, his body armor, grabbed up a bottle of water, a compass and a knife and took off out on his own. It was sometime after that, apparently, that some local militants grabbed him and turned him over to the Taliban.”

“Should he have left the post alone?” Miklaszewski asked. “Of course not. But that doesn’t make him a deserter.”

For once we can all agree with the Pentagon and a bipartisan group of legislators - this Chickenhawk coward, this pathetic piece of shit, who despite an Army career as a spook, never once was in a combat zone - for this brazen piece of psycho-pathological bile to call for a captured soldier's murder is simply unforgivably beyond the pale.

To put this squirming bit of protozoan cancer back on TV and allow him to defend his spoken-word vomit is abhorrent beyond even this jaded cynic's belief.

he went back on their and restated it as if it would sound better the second time or we didnt hear him.

Bill O'Reilly is lost in a strange but colorful inter-dimensional world that only specimens like Peters can connect with.

The scary part is how many of them there must be in his audience.

I hope the MIA-POW, VFW, and other veteran's groups find out where this guy is and what he has said on national TV about killing American prisoners. They should be picketing his house every day and shaming him.

I doubt it would take much to make this chickenhawk cry.

I think the 22 veteran members of Congress should be shot for not doing anything to improve veteran treatment at home.

I wouldn't really trivialize it like that, as if they are on some kind of forgivable drug trip.

And he wouldn't have an audience if his unpopular, essentially insane message, wasn't completely in line with the corporate elite, specifically Murdoch, that controls that media outlet.

But by broadcasting it every day, at loud volume, it invariably draws some people in.

But what can be done about people who are drawn into an essentially insane message?

Brain transplants aren't possible yet.

I find it amusing that the far left has fallen in love with this particular soldier, in some beyond-creepy Chris Mathews sort of way.

Had he simply done his duty over there and come home safely, they would be lining the streets yelling "Baby Killer!" at the man.

Tells you more about them than him, eh?

Stop broadcasting lies at full volume all day and all night. Yes, a certain portion of the population scores below the midway marker on those intelligence tests. Don't allow cynical corporations to bait them.

Fuck you asshole, you have no idea - none - what happened to this guy. Maybe he went out for some clean water. Maybe he thought he was meeting a girl. Maybe he wanted to go home. Maybe he was on an intelligence operation. YOU DON'T KNOW.

To demand he die because he's making you look like the fucking ruptured, callous, brainless assholes that you are simply will not be accepted by anyone with a brain or a conscience.

Fuck you Karen Kraft, you're a lying imperialist echo chamber with the ethics of a death camp whore.

You're welcome, please cross-post to other forums. Many Congress are already upset and many veterans too but we can get this clown off the air and maybe get O'Reilly fired too, long overdue.

You'll find any distraction you can to avoid criticizing a neo con... no matter how awfully he behaves.

You're bugfuck crazy, you know that?

BRAVO!

Oh my, what outrage.

First of all, whatever happened to the 1st amendment? Peters is entitled to his opinion even if it fills some with moral indignation.

I actually saw that interview with Peters, one of the few times I bothered to tune in O'Reilly. I got the impression that O'Reilly had Peters there to explain his outrageous opinion. At no time did O'Reilly agree with Peters. O'Reilly did opine that the soldier must have been 'crazy' to have walked away from his post the way he did. I happen to agree with O'Reilly on that observation.

Now a bunch of congress critters, who recently passed a few trillion dollars worth of debt off on your grandchildren without having read the legislation, are demanding the firing of Peters AND O'Reilly and an apology from the head of the network for even having allowed Peters to express an opinion. Too funny for words actually.

A bunch of clowns that feel it's perfectly OK to spend the paychecks of the unborn find that someone excercising their constitutional rights is 'unamerican.' That peculiar irony certainly isn't lost on me.

The OP's posted quote and provided links go a long way to mischaracterize O'Reillys involvement in the whole affair. Again, O'Reilly at no time agreed with Peters and did call him down on several points. Apparently O'Reillys sin was to have had Peters on to explain his comments. Which Peters did, however to give his reasoning any credibility one has to take as fact some elements that even Peters admits are rumors. Peters seems to take these rumors as fact, I don't and it was apparent to me that neither did O'Reilly.

"The Left always shouts 'baby killer'!"
"Reagan won the Cold War!"

Karen, you are one livin' breathin' cliche-spoutin' machine!
