for passage of his healthcare initiative?

That's a no brainer if you look at what happened at the three most recent town halls conducted by members of congress and an Obama administration official..

The president and the top dems know exactly what the representatives and senators are going to hear from their constituents during the Aug. recess. The goal was to ram the bill(s) through before any of the elected representatives had to listen to their constituents. Mighty democratic of them don't ya think?

conservatives love to say how the government is slow and ineffecient but when someone tries to get something done quickly in government its a conspiracy and must be stopped. im sure if it was huckabee as president trying to pass some kinda whacky anti evolution bill in the same manner you wouldnt bat an eye

Wrong, no conservative will ever complain about government being slow or innefficient. The constitution was purposely constructed to insure that very thing. Our government was designed so that only the most dire of problems would be dealt with in a timely manner.

Bush yelled "Wolf" and we bought into the first bailout. And then Obama yelled "Wolf, wolf" and the second slipped through. We were rolled over twice in a 4 month period and even those slow on the uptake now realize that it was all bullshit.

Now Obama is trying the "Wolf, wolf, wolf" gambit and only the terminally socailist is buy the line. Too bad, he had a chance to do something meaningful and pissed it away in his over-reach for power.

Buy why bother to vote at all?

Why not simply have Pelosi announce that she and Harried have read the plan and voted on it on behalf of everybody. That way they can do what they have been doing since January -- simply say that they had no idea what was in the new law, as they were not given an opportunity to read it. After all, this whole mess was inherited.

Bush did it.
Bush's fault.

Drink the Flavor-Aid.

Aahhhhhhh... how nice [everyone say 'nice' or there will be no pudding).

He's just like a used car salesman trying to pressure a buyer into signing a sales order before they have a chance to read the fine print. His actions are indefensible.

He's the epitome of a slimy politician.

Racist.

I really don't see why they would hear more from their constituents during a recess than now. Given the age of the internet, they're likely hearing more now than they will when not in session. Out of sight, out of mind comes into play during a recess.

Actually I was going to post that he has all the attributes of a street hustler. Lay out some dire emergency and ask for the money before the shill has a chance to think the story through. Go to any large metropolitan area and you'll find them hanging out.

The first hit is free.

I am not the kind of person that hates Obama, but it is very clear he losing steam. His own party is split on the deal, and he knows this may not see the light of day.

Actually, politically speaking, he's been pretty smart to let Congress put things together and then insert himself in the process as needed. He avoided Clinton's big mistake already. This wasn't going to be easy to put together. There will be a lot of people that don't like it. But he's pretty damn close to passing something Clinton could only throw up his hands in despair about.

Yes he is, if it works, he gets the credit. If it fails Congress gets the blame.
