He lived a good long life, so hopefully it'll be celebrated by those who knew him.
On a side note, anyone know if he ever finished high school? I remember reading somewhere, a long time ago, he didn't. I found it interesting. It just goes to show you what a self-learner he was. Of course, times were different back then.
From what I have heard a couple of times, during the Great Depression he dropped out of college after two years in order to go to work as a broadcaster. I would assume he finished high school before entering college.
Those numbers don't really seem to add up, though. Assuming he died in 2009 at the age of 92, that would mean he was born in 1916 or 1917. He was just barely a teenager at the time the Depression started.![]()
