They're showing Blade Runner right now.

With the voice overs as well as them driving away through the countryside. (Not the version which stops with them just leaving his apartment.)

Naturaly this is also the version that has had all nudity or hints of nudity removed. (We can't allow the little ones to see tits or ass, it might hurt them but we all know watching someone get wasted isn't harmfull in the least.)

I have been upset at the Sci Fi channel since they canceled Farscape a few years ago.

Believe it or not, I watched it FOR THE FIRST TIME yesterday!

Yes, I was a Blade Runner virgin...

Good movie!

Me too! And I've been boycotting them ever since. Bastards. Of course, it helps when you no longer have cable. LOL

I came up with my user name from combining Star Trek and Farscape. I'm such a geek. :D

Sorry for hijacking the thread. Haven't seen Bladerunner in years; great movie though.

For those who don't want to wait for TV to offer a Bladerunner rerun, most libraries have the movie in DVD.

The quality has dropped markedly since they were purchased by NBC several years back. Now, it's used as a dumping ground for marathons of old shows and badly-produced (but sometimes still enjoyable) made-for-SciFi movies.

Today (Tuesday), however, it's supposed to become SyFy, which may mean it was sold, or perhaps heading in a new direction. Or maybe it's just a gimmick. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Personally, I'm pissed that they don't seem willing to continue Sanctuary, which IMO was their best offering since the initial Stargate: SG-1 series. Maybe the show was too expensive to produce. Maybe the cast demanded higher salaries (which I could see in Amanda Tapping's case). Their initial replacement was a badly-written and hackneyed series called Primeval, staffed with unnamed actors and following a shaky premise at best. Now there's Warehouse 13, which might actually be interesting to watch, but again, it seems hackneyed and contrived, like following one of Aaron Spelling's old scripts.

As for Bladerunner, it's a classic and always will be. It has one of the few roles Sean Young was perfect for, in that she did not have to act outside her range. :p Rutger Hauer became an icon after this film, and still overshadows Harrison Ford's character even now.
