Checking in for a bit as the Ribs smoke and nothing much is going on right now.
Did our ride this morning at oh dark hundred. It was still warm out at 0600 but not too bad. The roads were empty! (Made for a truly enjoyable ride.)
Made it home and after getting changed I hauled out the chop saw and started cutting the wood for the planter. My wife was smart, she stayed inside while I sweat outside. I finally quit for a while when I realized the sweat was dripping off my Do-Rag and onto my sunglasses making it hard for me to see the lines I had drawn on the timbers.
When I went inside the wife informed me we had to run down the street to the local grocery store, she needed a couple of things. (Including Wine for her.) Okay not a problem. I peel off my shirt, dry off and pull on another T-Shirt. Off we go.
I'm surprised at just how many people are in the store as well as by the demographic they represent. Very few of them seemed to be over the age of 50. One of them, a cute little Red Head in Bike Shorts and Spandex Top caught my wifes eye and was pointed out to me. (My wife knows I look just as I know she looks. We often point out those the other might find pleasing to the eye.) I looked and we kept on going.
When we left the store here's this same lady standing next to her bike and looking at it in consternation. I glance at where she's looking and see the problem. The chain has come off. Not a problem. I walk over and tell her I'll give her a hand as I glance at her again. Well she certainly isn't as young as her body suggested, from the looks of her up close she's right around my wife and my age. I flip the bike over and quickly have the chain back where it's supposed to be. Standing it back upright I tell her to have a nice day and off we go again. My wife doesn't even tell me that had been a nice thing to do, she knows me and how I would answer that. (It was the only thing to do.)
After we arrived home we worked arund the place for a bit before deciding it was time to wander over and check out the pool. (Not to mention cool off.) You can imagine my surprise when we walk into the pool enclosure and find only one other person there. They are laying on a chaise lounge on the other side of the pool so I ignore her and after dropping my towel on a chair hit the water. Oh man did that feel good and I was wondering why the pool wasn't crowded. (Not that I was complaining mind you.) I did a couple of laps while my wife watched and laughed. (I do laps a bit different from most people. I do them underwater. Hey I'm a SCUBA Diver what can I say?) When I reached the deep end of the pool again my wife said something that I didn't catch so I stopped. She told me to turn around and check out the other person. I did and was surprised to see it was the lady from the grocery store. She was now sitting up looking at us and smiling. When she stands up and starts walking towards us I could only look. If she had looked good in her riding outfit she looked even better in her bikini.
She walked over and slid into the water next to us and we started talking. She thanked me for helping her out with her bike and I just nodded. Then she explained why we had never seen her before, she had just moved in a couple of days ago. Well we talked for a while before she had to leave for a night out with some friends of hers.
We hung around the pool for a while after that then went home ourselves. As we were walking home my wife told me she had been looking through the Harbor Freight Catalog and had found something she wanted to get me. An eight drawer tool box made out of wood. I'll have to think about that one.
So how's your day going?
