We The People

Washington D.C. is like Vagas,

Not only that the game is fixed, it is fixed for the welfare of the employees.
Not is the game but the players become crooked too.
Re: Kerry, Bush,Kennedy, Gerham, ... (list all senior legislators).

People let the candidates form the discussions, when the people should be setting the agenda through their representatives and direct communications with their legislators.

When was the last time you wrote your congress critter? What did you get back?

Bullshit and double talk, talking points and obstrufacation! That's all I ever got from mine.

Face it, Congress is nothing more than a glorified debating society completely divorced from the reality beyond the Beltway.

I am so fucking tired of this!

You don't prefer the company of so-called 'smart' people...you prefer the company of those who agree with your view of things. Anyone who doesn't is branded a Neanderthal, racist or a retard. Nice hypocrisy there, cloudy. ;)

I'm glad that you and the other so called 'smart' people have found another on-line community to vent your spleen about how fucked up the USA is...and how BHA is gonna save us all. You won't be missed, I assure you.

A free exchange of ideas is what made this country great...in your world that's retarded...or racist...or whatever. Go whine somewhere else.

You don't even have the first fucking clue what I want. The only people calling Obama "the messiah" are you and your fellow bermuda-shorts-worn-with-black-socks-and-sandals cronies. Even when Bush was in office we didn't start fifteen god damned threads a day about the same tired old Faux News talking points.

I know that he's human. I've always known that. I don't expect miracles from him at all. Hell, anything he does is gonna be better than what we had.

As far as you being glad I'm gone - fuck you and the horse you rode in on. I've never given a flying fuck what you think, and I'm not about to start now. If you have a problem with me, go fuck off and play shuttleboard or something. High opinion of yourself much?

As if.

As matter of fact I do hold myself in high regard. :D

This is exactly the response I expected. More scurrilous remarks and stereotyping of anyone who disagrees with you. For a supposedly intelligent person, you've descended into playground insults and damn little else. You couldn't hold an intelligent exchange of ideas if you tried. You're a small minded, bitter, hateful person who can't stand being disagreed with. Away with you and your ilk. Go spew your bile and contempt for others that disagree with you somewhere else.

PS: I drive a truck, not ride a horse. :p

Spew it like you're doing here?

I'm sorry...I must've done something to make you think I give a rat's ass what you think. Allow me to correct that now. I don't.

CLOUDY comes here to medicate herself for depression.

Like McKenna I baled after the first twenty five second. Propaganda makes my skin itch.

After some thought my question is, "Why, when your house is on fire, are you haggling with the firemen over how much it is going to cost?"

Anything that isnt confiscated from taxpayers at gunpoint makes ROBs skin itch.

Thanks for making my point (again). :D

Well, I'm not getting in the middle of that, but I have to say, I'm pretty damn tired of the attempts of outrageous manipulation from certain groups.

Bush, et al, did it for 8 years. Cheney is still doing it today. (Why is anyone still listening to anything this man has to say? Embittered penguin!)

Quite frankly, I don't buy it.

I'll find the facts myself, thank you very much, since those have pretty much been distorted and spun out of recognition by the groups trying to play on the fears of the uninformed or the preconceived biases (or bigotry) of others.

No thanks. :)

For a certain portion of the population an enemy is a necessary part of their world view. Without something to fight against they literally have no way to navigate through the world.

Too bad their current enemy is their fellow citizens.

There really are scoundrels in the world. And sometimes noble men put their boot or a hot cap in the scoundrel's ass.

To me, most of this stuff boils down to "We lost the election. Therefore, we must recommend revolution."

During the Bush years, this position was answered with "Why do you hate freedom?"

Personally, I see the current status of the GOP as self-inflicted and the current dismay of the conservatives on this board would be amusing if it were not so disturbing.

You lost this game. It is a little late to take your ball and go home when the ninth inning is already over.

Next game is in Nov. 2010 for the Senate. Nov. 2012 for the presidency. See you then.

As to the whining? Meh. You got a right to whine, as long as you actually voted anyway.

Doesn't mean I have to listen though.

I wonder how Cloudy and Bel will defend the taxman in chief when everyones electric bill goes up 40% - 80% if Cap & Trade passes?

Obama said it would increase utilllity bills "substantially" during the election. Wonder if he cosidered the chance of it causing a real Depression?

Worst part is? It won't make a 1 degree difference in the temperature of this planet! Ever!

Not during your lifetime, perhaps.

But what about your great grandchildren?

Isn't it time to plan for the future, rather than just reacting to everyday events?

Climate change isn't a political issue. It's science.

splendid

Any money’s left in the treasury after paying for the defense will be used for support of the national infrastructure.

now there's a way to improve highways, waterway, fiber optic and communications systems!

see if there's money left -- after reducing federal spending by, what, 50%? 70%

it's quite fortunate that these fellows have put down their ideas; no sane voter is going to go along with the loss of services indicated.

Furthermore, the government of this Union will no longer barrow {sp}moneys from any source to pay its debts. Nor will any contracts be entered into which would place the government in debt to any source.

this is a brilliant one. jeez, even george washington had this wrong [claim these brilliant guys], not to say every *conservative* president, e.g. coolidge and hoover.

wiki, public debt: The United States has had public debt since its inception. Debts incurred during the American Revolutionary War and under the Articles of Confederation led to the first yearly reported value of $75,463,476.52 on January 1, 1791.

here's something the bright fellows might add:

to encourage thrift in all citizens we call for the destruction of all credit cards and credit financing. the devil is behind all borrowing.

What will you do when the money you refused to pay into the infrastructure won't buy you any electricity at all?

I'm pretty sure it says somewhere in the Constitution that people have the right to cheap energy forever. ;)

That's rich.

Open Letter to Congress
TO THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES: YOU ARE BEING DECEIVED ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING

You have recently received an Open Letter from the Woods Hole Research Center, exhorting you to act quickly to avoid global disaster. The letter purports to be from independent scientists, but that Center is the former den of the President’s science advisor, John Holdren, and is far from independent. This is the same science advisor who has given us predictions of “almost certain” thermonuclear war or eco-catastrophe by the year 2000, and many other forecasts of doom that somehow never seem to arrive on time.

The facts are:

The sky is not falling; the Earth has been cooling for ten years, without help. The present cooling was NOT predicted by the alarmists’ computer models, and has come as an embarrassment to them.

The finest meteorologists in the world cannot predict the weather two weeks in advance, let alone the climate for the rest of the century. Can Al Gore? Can John Holdren? We are flooded with claims that the evidence is clear, that the debate is closed, that we must act immediately, etc, but in fact

THERE IS NO SUCH EVIDENCE; IT DOESN’T EXIST.

The proposed legislation would cripple the US economy, putting us at a disadvantage compared to our competitors. For such drastic action, it is only prudent to demand genuine proof that it is needed, not guesswork, and not false claims about the state of the science.

DEMAND PROOF, NOT CONSENSUS

Finally, climate alarmism pays well. Many alarmists are profiting from their activism. There are billions of dollars floating around for the taking, and being taken.

I'm putting DP on ignore for a while, so that him and his buddies can whine in peace.

I do wish there was an 'ignore specific threads' function.

My AH would be very slow-- but would have much more sex and writing, far less politics.

Bush was borderline retarded. The reason we're in the economic mess we're in now is because of your special needs boy in the white house for eight long fucking years.

How much was spent on that fucking fiasco in Iraq? Wasn't it something like $8 billion a month? How much health care would that much money buy? How much research into alternative energy would that fund?

But, no. He had to have his little macho-fucking-idiotic war. My cousin died over there for your fucking war. My nephew's over there right now, and if he doesn't get killed for your boy's frat party over there, it'll be a fucking miracle.

And you're just as short-sighted as your party boy Bush was. The only difference is that you can't fuck it up for everyone else like he did.

Whine, complain, bitch...start fifteen fucking threads a day like you have been.

No wonder I found another online community. I prefer the company of smart people, and there's a few here still, but they're leaving just like I did.

At least there, if someone insults you, it's spelled correctly.

Ya'no I don't give two hoots in the White House as long as the honor the constitution. Bush was a moron and did a lot of things I didn't and don't agree with. He grew government just like a Democrat.

Now we have a new man in the White House, whose just like the old man. Growing government at an alarming rate, disregarding the constitution. He's got the great unwashed masses on their knees praising him a the messiah.

He's no better than Bush and in most ways worse.

So quit yer bitchin' and stand aside the revolution is starting to roll.

;)

I made it through a whole 1 minute 25 seconds before I bailed. Jebus.

Last night I watched a History Channel show about the Founding Fathers and how they founded our nation under the influence of hemp, tobacco, and alcohol. Nowadays, I think they call that "liberal," no?

Interestingly, Ben Franklin was a lascivious degenerate; George Washington not far behind Franklin. Free Masons ruled the roost then, and now? Pffft... I'll take Obama and his socialistic world-view. 'Bout time America realized it's not the end-all, be-all.

Two thumbs way, way down.

That would be libertarian, not liberal. Big difference. Big...difference.

I can find just as many scientific studies to refute the ones you always present, Try.

It is impossible to attempt a discussion with those who have already closed their minds.

But reputable scientists do believe climate change is real. There have been at least seven glacial advances and retreats based on geologic varves (glacial deposits).

The issue now is not whether or not climate change happens, but whether or not the humans on this planet are negatively contributing to this happening, sooner rather than later.

It's okay if you don't believe. I cannot convince my father either, intelligent, retired Air Force man that he is.

He's much more comfortable with the status quo. He doesn't want to think about how much gas his big ol' truck guzzles, or the hassles of recycling. He is very set in his ways. He doesn't want to envision he may have to change what he does or how he thinks. He doesn't want to know.

No sense arguing.
