I made a video to share with a friend last night but it is too big to attach via email. I joined a hosting site but the file was still too big as they have a 100MB limit. My video was 450MB, but only 4 minutes long which I don't think is excessive

Can anyone recommend an adult site to host a file this big please?

Sorry if this is a frequently asked question ... but I did check the stickies and couldn't find any answers.

You could transfer it via Yahoo or Skype file transfer.

That's good to know, thanks! For other reasons though I'd like to find an adult site than can host the size of files I seem to be making. I'd be grateful if anyone knows of any and could let me know.

450 mb for a 4 minute vid? Surely you can find some way to convert it to a smaller video format?

I'd seriously recommend a different video format. The video software that recorded it for you may have a converter or some sort of compression function.

Ummm... I think I know what you mean Raw. If I can't find a site to host the size of my files I know what to look into next. Thankyou.

You could always split the file into pieces and then upload them to megaupload or some other "big" quick file host.

Site rules doesn't really matter, unless they are actively monitoring it (which most uploading sites obviously doesn't: they usually rely on wordfilters (but I guess that's not so common) and people reporting the files).

Or you could just make a torrent (it's really easy in most torrent programs, usually there's an option called "make torrent" in the menu) and upload that somewhere (TPB etc.). If you don't want other people to download it, just encrypt it (which you should do anyway if the information is of sensitive nature (as in something you don't want anyone else but your friend to see)).

Busted! I managed to upload a large file to a site only to have it deleted within about 10 minutes ... clearly they do!

So the emphasis is on adult sites where nudity and pornography is acceptable.

I'll check out picassa ... I'm afraid I don't really know what torrent is and that all sounds a bit confusing. But thankyou for your post and help

Sounds like your looking for somewhere to host files, but if you just want to send one, JetBytes worked well for me. I haven't tried one that size but all mine worked well.

Ehm, how would they know that what you uploaded was pornographic in nature? You DID give it a good file name, right?

Bittorent is a way to share files (a p2p protocol). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitTorrent_(protocol)

The easiest way to use bittorent is by downloading an bittorent client such as µTorrent (www.utorrent.com). Start it up, then go to archive -> create new torrent.

Chose your file, and under "Trackers:", you write in the name of a tracker.
Put http://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80/announce under "Trackers", then press "create and save as". Now you have a .torrent file. Now, go to http://www.mininova.org/upload , select your torrent file, write something in file description etc., then press submit torrent.

Now you just have to start the torrent and you'll seed ("upload") the torrent. Anyone else can now go to the web page you get to after uploading the torrent, and download the .torrent file, and from there they can download your file.

Bittorent is the most popular p2p program out there right now; most people probably already have a torrent client.

(...oh, and I just saw that mininova doesn't allow porn. Oh well, just name it something else that people is uninterested in downloading, then the torrent won't get rapported).

Hi

You could use WinRar (like WinZip) http://www.win-rar.com/downloadnow.html (40 day free tiral) to break up your file into 100Mb parts. You can also password your file as well. Then upload the files to the file hosting site you mentioned in your first post. (http://rapidshare.com/ is another file hosting site)

Your recipient would need WinRar as well to re-join and un-pack the file.

or

If you are using a PC... you could try using the built in Movie Maker (every PC has this) to re-render your movie to a smaller size.

In the Movie Maker Help... search for Saving a movie to My computer

You might try xHamster, they let you password the file for privacy so only people you give the password to can see it.

Here is a free converter that will do anything to everything -- Super. It's a 68MB download, and the install may download a bit more.

Go to the very bottom of the page, and click the "Start Downloading SUPER ©" link.

It will open another page that will have another link at the bottom something like "Download SUPER © setup file from our 3rd dedicated server".

If the first page loops back on itself, read the instructions below the red bar.

When you install Super: After you accept the license, it will offer a bunch of other software (open candy) so click the very light "decline" button until you see the message window "ONLY the GUI is Copyright © 2002-2015 eRightSoft".

When you run super, drag a file into the box, then double click it for information about how it's encoded, screen dimensions, bit rate, etc. Your file may be really big because the bit rate or frame is really high or Video Size is super big (like HD 1920x1024).

The defaults of 29.97 fps and 960 KB should give very good playback. mp4 should play almost anywhere. Consider checking the "no change" button under Video Scale if the analysis says the original is 720:480 or less. Verify the aspect ratio won't change (much) if you rescale the video size; adjusting to avoid too much stretching or shrinking.

640:480 (4:3 aspect), 29.9fps, and 578 KB are typical youtube video values, creating output file sizes running about 4.3MB for minute of video.

In the far right green column, I check "Top Quality" and uncheck "Stretch It".

If this seems complicated, perhaps someone can recommend something simpler. ;)

I have learned to check the post dates. Your post cracked me up, btw.

There's a whip cracker in the How To boards? Interesting.
