Okay I eat plenty of Bacon. We're talking anywhere from two to three pounds of it a week if not more. (Now we're not going to talk about Cholesterol as mine is quite low.) I eat it in meals as well as a favorite snack.

Now my absolute favorite style of Bacon is Dry Cured even though it's a bit more work to cook. Following that wood be Apple Wood SMoked thick cut bacon.

How about you? What kind/style of bacon do you prefer?

That's too much bacon for me. ;) But then again I made myself sick eating too much bacon at once a long time ago sooo...

My favorite style of bacon is normal-cut hickory-smoked bacon, cooked to where it's mostly crispy but still a little chewy.

Thickly sliced hickory smoked bacon...crisp. Turkey bacon isn't half bad for a low cholesterol substitute.

I've thought about trying turkey bacon...what means "isn't half bad?"

Canadian bacon, preferably diced and sauteed with olive or canola oil, a diced onion and chopped cabbage. I saute until there's some brown bits in it. My family loves it.

Ummm...well...it has a different taste and consistency...there's no fat, so it's more dry...it's not half as tasty as real bacon, but what taste there is is pleasant...IMO it's an acquired taste...I've found the Jenny-O brand about the best of them.

Cook some up and try it...it's not unpleasant...just...different. ;)

Most of the time, I like turkey bacon in the mornings. Louis Rich is the only brand I will eat. I'm sure it's so processed and full of junk that traditional bacon is actually much better for you. It has several forms of MSG and other crap that isn't in regular bacon. But, I like it. :(

This local ham company makes crazy good thick smoked bacon. It's probably the best I've ever had. Though I've found the low-sodium uncured bacon(forget which brand) is really yummy too.

There was a packing company in Deming, NM that did a mesquite smoked thick sliced. Best I've ever had.

Bacon in the UK is best, hands down. It's thick, meaty stuff with tiny strips of fat separating big swathes of meat. Finding it in the States is nearly impossible. It's known as "cottage bacon" over here and a specialty butcher will be able to order it sometimes.

I crave the thick cut, hickory smoked style.....it's a gift from God....or else it was what got Adam and Eve kicked out in the first place.....I don't want to jack this thread but put an apple on a plate, slice it if you will; and five cooked slices of bacon on another.....no contest....it's a pork thang.......ciao

My favorite kind of bacon?

The kind that someone else cooks. AND brings to me on a platter with two eggs over easy and some sourdough toast with strawberry jam. Mebbe hash browns, too.

And coffee.

I had an old uncle, would eat a pound of bacon for breakfast. Thick-cut smoked... toast, slathered with fresh cream butter, a little Log Cabin syrup for dipping, coffee black as ink. He lived to be 102.

Dry-cured is my favorite, but it's hard to find around here.

English bacon, not smoked, from our local butcher (sourced from local farms),
little or no fat.

Served with fried eggs and toast. and coffee. . . . . .

[I'm feeling hungry again . . .]

I'm going to go make breakfast. I just bought 6 pounds of thick-sliced bacon. There will be eggs cooked in crunchy bacon grease, too. And many coffee.

3 slices of bacon for me and 2 for The Babe.

one bunch of green onions sautéed in bacon grease (I do so love scallions), swiss cheese, and two eggs in a loose omelette.

2 large slices of sourdough toast with butter.

an oversized mug of coffee with cream and almond syrup.

NOM!!!

Is that the one that burned down? That shit was good.

Could be, I looked for it in the store when I was in Las Cruces last year and couldn't find it. D-Pac was the name, for Deming Packing Co.
