 Whoa

That poll asks whether MJ should be remembered as the King of Pop or as a tragic figure. I would have chosen a third option: A pervert.

Hear, hear! I phoned The Babe and she said "Well, it's tacky, but his kids are better off." I think so, too.

How could that cute, talented little boy become that freakish looking pederast? He was superbly talented, I'll give him that.

RIP Michael. Your demons have lost their grip at last. :rose:

An amazing artist who ended up a tragic figure.

Without disagreeing with your opinion, because it is a matter of personal taste, I will still always think of him as a pervert who got away with it.

Both, why not?

One does not preclude the other-- even Box's belief that he was a pervert does not change the fact that he was also a great pop musician and a tragic figure.

Kings of any kind are often tragic figures.

As an illustration and testimony to my lack of pop cultural sophistication: Michael Jackson's 'children' are not his biological children.....They ARE products of their mother and some other individual but my daughter pointed out that they are not his biological children.....
Why would he marry a woman so that she could have children that aren't his? Another unanswered question.....

From one pervert to another, I am highly offended.

Remember him for his talents. Death is enough punishment if he was actually guilty of the crimes he was accused of.

I will not judge him as a person, that is for God alone to do. I will, however, hate what he has done and despise his actions and those of the people who let him get away with it. I feel that this is too little too late for many of the children he has hurt, but at least it will keep the numbers from rising. His past as a pop star pale in comparison to the destruction he has brought into this world.

How many children did he hurt do you think? You make it sound like thousands.

I think that his songs have brought real genuine happiness to people all over the globe-- USA, Europe, Japan, everywhere I've been I've seen people rock out to Michael Jackson.

I live in LA, and am on the fringes of the music scene; I know maybe a dozen people who have worked with MJ, from dancers to producers, and some of those dancers were very young. I don't think that he was the monster he's been portrayed as, and therefore the "number of children he has hurt" is a totally false notion. What you read in the press was hugely exaggerated for shock value.

And yes, I am mother to two children myself.
