Settle down, prevs. Not like that.

Have had a little bit of a difficulty typing the last few days, since my south paw had an incident involving a speed freak on a moped, and some pretty hard pavelemt, resulting in a double fracture in the forearm and a dislocated thumb. Half wrapped in plaster, there's not much I can wo with my main hand than point pathetically at things, or a minor riot breaks out in my wrist.

Never realized how bloody difficult it is to type, or put on a pair of socks, or unlock my front door without my beloved leftie.

Opposable tumbs in all their glory, I'd settle for oppoasble hands.

Yikes! Poor baby! With all the injuries around here lately, the AH is beginning to resemble an amateur BDSM session gone horribly awry!

A  for your owie from the still limping good little witch.

I suppose giving you the finger right about now would be a good thing...it would help with your typing. :D

Heal up quick, dude...and mind them Moped's. ;)

Awwww, poor you. I completely sympathise. I broke my wrist badly about 5 years ago (It was my left one, I'm left handed) and I was useless for months. everything was so difficult with one hand and I do mean everything. ;)

I hope you heal well and soon.

I broke my right color bone so had right arm in a sling to that was difficult for a while...acutally thought you were taking about trying to type whilst wanking that is difficult too..especailly if you use lotion..don't want to get it on the keyboard do we...lol:D

I was shopping Sky Mall the other day and saw an advert for Dragon: voice activated software. When I worked with special needs students I had one who used it to write his papers. Always was tempted to buy. I thought it would be a great way to write. Sometimes my fingers can't keep up with the dialogue running in my head, and I can type fast, too.

Maybe you might buy this and let us know how it works? :D

Otherwise, sympathies. I lost use of my right hand in college for about a month from overuse (I was playing piano 10 hours a day). The hand just went numb. I was miserable.

Oh, no!

I'm so sorry to hear this!

Ask for help. It's the hardest damned thing I've been doing lately, it seems, but there are some things you won't be able to manage without it.

I hope your recovery is swift and as pain-free as possible.

:rose:

Ouch! I hope it's not your...well...THAT hand.

Cheeky!

;)

Poor baby. :(

Sounds like you need someone to take dictation. ;)

And you have re-discovered the reality that 70% of keystrokes are left handed.:)

Dragon is OK, if you have an accent it can be a pain. I spent a lot of time saying "correct that" when I used it last.

Get better, and make up a really raunchy story about what happened to your hand to tell every third person who asks "what did you do?"

Yes, what is it with the socks report and such? We need to know more important things. Like shoelaces, shaving and... well... THAT.
Don't remind me of a problem unless you're prepared to be part of the solution.

One would think you'd be used to it...

:D

Ok, allright, I am a perv, no use denying it. ;)

I have a copy of ViaVoice and I thought it was great. It can take a g e s to get it right but when you do, just talk at the machine.

Of course, editing the mistakes can be a pain. . . . .

*hugs lots* ooooww:kiss::rose::heart: Heal quicklie sweetie.. and in times like thathelpers are meant tohel with 'the oher' ;)

Ouch! Sorry. I know what you are going through missing a hand. I've had carpal tunnel surgery on both. My dominate hand was the worse to do without. Never mind the pain you go through, its just so frustrating to live without it--showering, shampoo, potty stuff. Very annoying. I hope I'm never an invalid for keeps. Each day will get better. Happy healing, Liar!
