A post in the wrong place: non-authors... WTF?

OK, I appreciate this is the wrong place to ask this question, but I don't believe there's a right place...

Has anyone else noticed that the vast majority of Literotica accounts have

* No stories
* No forum posts
* No picture
* No biography

So... why? Someone please explain to me! Why do people start accounts here, if not to post stories or join in discussion? You don't need to be a member to read. If it was just a hook-up thing, you'd expect they'd have biographies at least, and probably pictures.

But... nothing. WTF?

If it was one or two of these it wouldn't be surprising, but it seems to be nine accounts out of every ten. I just don't understand!

I would imagine that most of them are folks who signed up by habit from the beginning without even thinking either way to what extent they were going to go beyond just reading and/or lurking in the forum.

A good many of them are just long gone forum posters, I'd think--and even former story posters who pulled them all.

And then there are a number that are banked alts of otherwise active posters.

There are dozens of forums on the intrawebs I registered for, never went back to, and forgot where exactly they were.

So yeah, I bet a lot of those were here once, registered, and either never returned, or made a new account.

Searching for stories is restricted if you don't have an account. That is why there is quite a delay between my signing up for the site and my actually participating on the site

I have one account that came about a year or so ago when there was a problem here, though I can't remember the exact nature of it. Several of us made new ID's during that time. Mine has no stories and few posts with it.

Sometimes, authors take down stories to publish elsewhere. Sometimes individual posters bare minimize so as to not be discovered in RL. I recall a couple a few years ago, Lime and subLime. Someone from RL discovered them and so they wrangled to delete all their posts and stories.
