Ok, so I gave in and dug up a spot in the garden for my melon patch. I soaked my seeds in water and nutrient for 24 hours, spread em out and covered them in some nice dirt. Watered em for a couple of days.
I come home the other day to a big footprint right in the middle of where I planted my melons, still haven't figured out that one yet but I decided to spread the dirt back around nice and even and dig a water trench on either side. To my surprise a LOT of those seeds have put out little rootlings.
Looks like I'll have a bumper crop of melons so I'm going to hook up a drip irrigation thingie to make it easier to water them.
These are just a mix of regular watermelon and gaia melons. I hope to be feasting upon the melons soon.
P.S. I've already caught some faeries checking out the baby melon seeds. I shooed them away but suspect that they hang around when they think no one is around. The cat's been growling at em a lot.
