What in the world is a "hulu" and why should I care?

ps - you can get all back episodes of Burn Notice there. Is that cool or what?
:D

Hulu is great. Every once in a while there's a show I want to see and I watch it there.

Hulu has the best commercials. Dennis Leary admitting that he is an alien and that TV is the way the aliens turn your brain to goo so it can be extracted from your ears? Genius.

Just saw my first episode of Burn Notice the other night and....

WHERE HAVE I BEEN?

Jeffrey Donovan is...well...he's just awesome. :D

I do love hulu. It was great for the drive to and from Florida. I watched a lot of Family Guy.

Hulu is awesome. They have a LOT of captioned stuff. Not all of it, but a lot. Totally awesome.

If you like HULU, you should try Fancast. To me, Fancast has more shows but the streaming can be iffy sometimes. Just throwing it out there.

Full episodes of original Star Trek?!?!?!?! SWEET!

I mean, I have it all on DVD, but sometimes you want to just up and watch without getting the DVDs...I mean...I'm not an addict or anything...

And Buffy!! The first three seasons of Buffy!!

No captions though, that's a bummer. I will crank it when the wife's not around :D

edit: Huh...Hulu has the first 3 of buffy as well, WITH captions. Fancast needs to add them to be competitive for me :(

no Farscape (damnit)

but they do have The Dresden Files

The Invisable Man

I will be spending hours on this site!!!

I love, love, love hulu!! Between it and Netflix streaming I have toyed with the idea of ditching the cable.

Welp, since I hate paying for cable tv whenever there is something I want to watch I just check it out on hulu... far less advertising..

The advertising is why I had my cable tv canceled.

Now, someone tell me why my spell checker lights up when I spell canceled as cancelled?

Really, this kind of shit pisses me off when the once scoffed upon lazy americanized version of the word becomes the mainstream.

Cancelled: From an online dictionary.

1. The act or an instance of canceling; a cancellation.
2. Printing
a. Deletion of typed or printed matter.
b. The matter deleted.
c. A replacement for deleted matter.

[Middle English cancellen, from Old French canceller, from Latin cancellre, to cross out, from cancellus, lattice, diminutive of cancer, lattice.]

Now, nowhere in the history of this word is it spelled with a single "L".

I've been noticing this phenomena with quite a few words lately as my spell checker bastardizes them into modern gutter slang.

Don't go all Ted Kaczynski on us there in New Mexico now...

Shankie, I just want you to know that I was out for a pleasant drive the other day. I enjoyed the warm sunlight, the view of the mountains ringing Las Cruces, the smell of the clean desert air just after a nice rain.

I also really loved driving through the green chile fields. Millions of two foot high, bright green Hatch Green Chile plants were soaking up the sun. Engaged in that constant cycle of life, turning energy from the sun into the very essence of life within their lil green cells. Soon they will be supporting those shiny little chile pods, seeds maturing within and growing strong to survive the winter.

This fall during the chile festival, tons and tons of green chiles will be roasted over open fire. Their protective skins charred and cracked, the meat of the peppers flash cooked and full of flavor. The skins slide off with just a touch and then with a bit of salt and a warm tortilla we shall feast upon them in the simple fashion of old.

A strong whiff of aromatics as you take a bite, the juice alighting upon the palate as your brain releases a flood of endorphins upon sensing the potent capsicum. The euphoric sense of well being coupled with a slight dizziness soon passes and becomes a gentle sigh of contentment deep within ones most inner self. The sounds of happy children and excited adults mix with the heady scents of all of those girls from the college and university as they flaunt their nubile young bodies.... making one wonder at what they might be wearing underneath.

Late into the night the revelry extends into the dark beginning of another day, sated upon the chiles we hop from club to club, mingling with the locals and visitors alike. Perhaps to end with a trip to the Double Eagle and its bar, built way back in the days of the old west seeing the likes of Billy the Kid and Sheriff Pat Garrett. A wave at the bartender and a gesture towards that enormous glass container up behind the bar.... to finish off the night with a shot of their top shelf vodka that has been steeping in a jar full of green chiles. If you so dare.

  :)

Whassat??? I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome these green chiles are!!

They have em in little sealed packets now. All chopped, roasted and cleaned and they are similar to something like a gitanic packet of ketchup. You tear it open and put green chile on whatever you're eating. Holds about a half ounce of chile per packet or so, mebbe an ounce.

too bad it only allows US resident to view its content ...
