Oh my, my, my. I'm looking through old threads at some of my very old poetry. I did find one "poem" that made me laugh out loud.

I'm Almost 40
05-01-2004

Please open the door again
so the little light comes on.

Why am I on the back shelf
beside the green thing?
It hasn't moved for awhile.
If it's jell-o, I guess the color is okay,
but it sure doesn't jiggle like before.

Come on, open the door just a tad.
I saw a smudge of ink down my side.
Am I really best if used before 39?

Hey, jell-o or whatever you are,
have you expired?
I'm still creamy and supple,
but I did notice something fuzzy growing.
I'd still make a great dish, though.

Finally! Light!

What are you doing?
Careful, you're tilting me.
No, not there.
Don't toss me out.
What about the fucking jell-o?
At least, I still jiggle!

My poem thing is funny. Why? Imagine a woman close to turning 40. She's slowly beginning to freak. She thinks she's still kind of got it, but the jell-o turns out to be more desirable. God, I think jell-o is the funniest thing in the world. Especially if it's green and in a mold. Jiggle, jiggle, jiggle.

This was one feature of Prell shampoo (do they still make & sell it ?), being green and gooey (and in a clear toothpaste tube).

Many years ago, I worked at a local business which was asked if they would host a radio live remote. I agreed since it was my shift and I was manager on duty for the shift he requested. I received free Aerosmith tickets in return.

What's this got to do with jello?

The dj had a large kiddie pool filled with green jello and he sat in it most of the day. I do not remember what the purpose was though and the Jello stained his skin. It was hilarious. I still chuckle when I think about it.

I didn't know anyone ever responded to my jello thread. lol
I don't think there's nearly enough jello poetry or talk.
We need more jello poems!

giggle me

gelatin has no wings
its water song contains no bones
yet I collapse in its wetness
my sigh vibrated

I've never been a parent
so for this I didn't fall
heard that raising teens
is like nailing jelly to the wall

well I presume we are talking jelly here ...... stuff that wobbles on your plate lol

Over on this side of the expanding pond 'jelly' is generally put on toast.
Speaking of toast a long ago observation is that
English serve toast on toast racks, so it gets cold, but stays crisp.
Americans serve toast in a stack so it stays warm, but gets soggy.
Someone needs to come up with something to keep it warm and crisp.

So your jelly is our jam?
As for the toast ..... don't order it away from home make it yourself and eat it straight from the toaster. I hate cold toast!

Our jelly is your jam, jam here has bits of fruit, much like preserves

good grief I am confused now! Jam is fruit boiled up with lots of sugar until it sets. Marmalade is much the same only using citrus fruits the most popular being oranges, Jelly is the wobbly stuff lol

my toaster needs a giggle
or a jam
skipping
breakfest
or not
I shan't become a jelly roll...;)

toast racks? not in my house, lol

the way to keep toast hot AND crisp is this: make it in the toaster then when it pops up leave it in the toaster still for 15 seconds. this allows the steam to evaporate while the toast remains hot. it's the steam still coming out the bread that'll make it all soggy if laid one on top of another as soon as it's done.

remove it, butter it, eat immediately

wipe the crumbs off your chin :D
